 How do I start a blog where it is the end to the season for the team I blog on? I have done this before and odds are I will have to do it again but it is not a blog I want to write to be honest with you.
First of all the score in yesterday’s game was Minnesota Vikings 34, the Dallas Cowboys 3. No typo Dallas Nation that was the final score. I know the Cowboys were on a roll, gelling and everyone including myself thought they had what it took to get the Cowboys to the next level, the Super Bowl. I guess not as everyone who commented will note but Dallas Nation really thought they had a ‘special’ team this year. They got through the December blahs, they won the wild card but it was all for naught as yesterday there was no one to give the game ball to.
O.k., now that I have wiped the tears away, lets talk about yesterday’s game. Dallas started by moving the ball well and getting into Minnesota territory but here comes the blame game. Dallas quarterback Tony Romo almost single-handily gave the game away by fumbles, INT’s and not being the Romo we have seen of late that got Cowboy fans all excited about this post-season. Romo as I stated in the pre-game blog was only as good as his offensive line and well the whole offensive line were no-shows yesterday. The Minnesota defensive line over-powered the Dallas ‘O’ line led by Williams and of course Allen and Edwards. Minnesota defense, 6 sacks, 1 INT and 4 forced fumbles
Dallas wasn't really out of this game until the 4th quarter. Dallas held time of possession at 30:11. Dallas could move the ball but than had problems in the red-zone and then when they would rely on their kicker, it just didn't happen. Even though it is 3 points for a field goal, those are ‘very’ important points and could make and break games. I am not saying the Cowboys were going to win with the missed points on the FG’s but they were vital and Dallas kicker Suisham missed FG’s had the distance but both came up wide-right and wide-left.
Dallas basically beat themselves in this game. The ‘O’ line did not show up and all this after giving the ‘O’ line so much praise during the last few games. Dallas did not ‘execute’ at all. Dallas could not cause one Minnesota turn-over and that does not fair well with this blogger.
Kudos’s to the Minnesota Vikings, Brett Favre for still putting up career numbers at the age of 40 and the Minnesota defense for shutting up all the people that did not think they could do it and compete with the Dallas ‘O’ line. The Vikings came to play and play they did
It's going to be one of those off-seasons folks, what does Dallas do now? Is Tony Romo still the one to drive the Dallas offence, what about defense, who is going to be able to kick a field goal in a Dallas uniform. Any comments on the ‘voids’ to fill in Dallas Nation? Time will tell but the one good thing in Dallas today is they are ‘America’s Team’ and one that still has a great core of players which will once again contend next season.
