Time for a Turn

Well just to make sure I am sick of watching the Cubs play baseball, they went and earned a split with the Giants!  The Giants, the Orioles, theses are names I am cursing lately.  Come on fellas you are supposed to be one of the best teams in baseball.  In fact I wrote a blog on here asking for better teams and nobody stepped up and said another teams name.  The Giants?

Man oh man.  The Cubs look to welcome big Z back with open arms as they set battle with those dirty birds from St. Louis.  This is a big series to put our foot back on the pedal in the divi and show we are the cream of the crop.  No need to take a pre-allstar break.

I look for the Cubs to come back strong and take at least 2 of 3.

Should the Cubs go out and get someone right now fans?  Could we use another starter? perhaps another bat?  I would be calling the Orioles again to see what it would take for Roberts.  I also would be thinking of giving the Jays a call about the services of AJ at this point.  Burnett has shown over his last few starts at the Rogers Centre that he still has stuff in the tank.  What about C.C Sabathia?  The Cubs have to take a run at this guy don’t they?  I am sure they could put together a solid package of prospects for the Indians…I would honestly give up Hill, Gallagher, and Murton for him at this point.  I think marching out Zambrano, Sabathia, Dempster, Lilly in the post season would be something else.

Any thoughts?

I Thought the O’s Series Was Bad

What can I say.

I have spent the last day at least laughing at the New York Rangers for signing the softest guy in the NHL (Wade Redden) and the Toronto Maple Leafs for always confusing me with their strategy…however that is about all I have had to take comfort in lately.

The Cubs have looked far from the best team in baseball as of late.  In fact they barely look like a playoff team.  The Cubs get smoked by the Orioles, follow it up with a dust up from the Cubs, and now are losing to the awful Giants.  What is next?

Hopefully they can right the ship before the break with Zambrano set to come back and Soriano looks to be having a speedy recovery.

Come on Cubbies!  get this thing going.  Lets see what Dempster has in store for us today.

The Orioles?

The still have a team?

My goodness fellas, we are talking about the Orioles?

Yikes.  The Chicago Cubs dropped a series at home to the Baltimore Orioles yesterday, which as you can tell I am not very happy about.  The Cubs tried to be the first team in baseball to reach the 50 win mark but instead got pumped but the Orioles.

I love this ball club and it is very hard to say much when they have played so well all year but come on.  These are series that you have to win.  The Cubs seem to be missing something to me at this point…something that could be solved with a fella named C.C.

I still have no fear as the bigger conversation in Chicago right now is about the tv ad that Lou and Ozzie did “I’m a north side guy/ I’m a south side guy”…which was good stuff.  The Cubs are missing their two biggest pieces in Zambrano and Soriano which never helps but I would like to see them win as many ball games without those two that they can.

Chicago should do what they can to try and add Sabathia as he would put this team over the top I think.  Being able to toss Zabrano and Sabathia in the playoffs would just be a dream come true.

Next up are those dirty Six from across town!  If we sweep them again I won’t mind the loss to the Orioles as much.  I will add my Cubs fantasy report at the end of the week and will give some insight as to who I think will perform well or poorly in the second half of the season.

Till next time, keep fit and have fun.  I’m Sandy Gemmiti of Sportalkbuzz.com
