Redskins Vs Jaguars on Thursday Night

categorycategory

After the horrible and embarrassing game last week, the veterans of the Washington Redskins are speaking out.  “I hope coach is watching this,” Portis said. “‘Coach, I’m playing against Jacksonville.’”   RB Clinton Portis spoke to the media after last Saturday night’s game.  More of the veteran offense are speaking out about how they want to play against Jacksonville as the only way to put the stench of their loss behind them.

Meanwhile on the defense, the starters will not play against Jacksonville.  “They messed up [in the Carolina game], so they should leave it in their mouths as long as they can,” Blache said.  DE Jason Taylor, who was injured during the Carolina game, will be out 10-14 days and is questionable for playing the season opener against the New York Giants.  “I have been a quick healer in the past,” Taylor said. “People think I’m old, but I’m not that old yet. I feel all right. If we had to play [Tuesday], I couldn’t do it. But we have time. I’ll put my best foot forward in rehab and we’ll see where we are next week.”

I am not sure what to say about the outcome of this game tomorrow night, but hopefully the offense can forget about last week and the defense can stop the run!

Redskins Get POUNCED by Panthers

categorycategory

If last night’s game was supposed to mimic a regular season game, we are in for a very long season ahead of us.  The Redskins only managed a single field goal and QB Jason Campbell saw more of the turf than the end zone, getting sacked 4 times.  If it wasn’t sacks it was turnovers and the Redskins fumbled three times.  The Redskins preseason drops to 3-1 after losing 47-2 against the Caroline Panthers.

If that wasn’t the worst of the game, DE Jason Taylor suffered a knee injury, along with T Jon Jansen with a sprained right foot.

Overall it was just a messy game both on the offence and defense.  Next week they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars and their season starts on September 4th against the former Super Bowl Champs the New York Giants.  They have a lot of work ahead of them to rebound from this loss.

Redskins Take On Panthers on Saturday

categorycategory

Saturday night’s game against the Carolina Panthers is promising to be similar to a regular season game for the Washington Redskins as most starters will play the entire first half.  We will also get a sneak peek at the new offense in full force as head coach Jim Zorn will be calling the plays.  The Redskins preseason offense started off strong, but has slowly dwindled.

WR Malcolm Kelly may play as well.  We haven’t seen him in action due to his hamstring injury during training camp, but it’ll be a game time decision.

Redskins are 3-0 in preseason and Carolina at 1-1.  Let’s hope Carolina plays their starters for the first half to get a great game going!
