USC QB Sanchez hurts knee injury (Updated)

category

No word yet other then he went down, hopefully it is not serious and will just require some rest.  Hopefully in the next few days we will find out how serious this is.  If not transfer Mitch Mustain would be the one to most likely step in.

***UPDATE***

He has a dislocated left knee cap and was popped back in place according to David Wharton of the Los Angles Time; Sanchez will not do anything this weekend and begin rehab monday.

NFL Draft Watch 2009

categorycategorycategory

With the college football season around the corner it’s time to look at this years crop of players that could be names mentioned come next April.  I have spent a lengthy period of time combing over each roster in division 1.  (I do not refer to it by the new name the NCAA has given it.)

Some of the players are seniors, juniors, & others have been reshirted in a prior year but are eligable to enter the 2009 draft if they choose to go that route depending on the year they have.  Many names are probably obvious while others may cause you to do some research to know who they are and what they have done.

2009 Commitment Scorecard

categorycategory

Here is an update list of unoffical commitments for the 2009 recrutiing class.  No suprise to see teams like Ohio St, Auburn, Texas, USC, Florida St, or Oklahoma on the list.  What to me is suprising is who is currently as of today sitting at #3 Central Michigan and #4 Duke.  Whatever each program recruiting pitch is it’s working and working big time.

No doubt David Cutcliffe is getting far better talent to commit to Duke then anybody since probably Steve Sprurrier which is so long ago it’s not even close to the level these kids are at today.   In regards to Central Michigan’s coach Butch Jones who was just hired this off-season from West Viriginia is certainly winning over many recruits to be part of what that program.  Let’s see if each coach can continue to keep these kids until national signing day.
