Greetings SportsTalkBuzz!

Greetings all!

My name is Ian Altenbaugh one of the newest additions to Sports Talk Buzz. I come to you all from Sports Fiend as primarily a hockey writer but will also be contributing analysis and commentary regarding the Pittsburgh Steelers.

After the NHL lockout, I noticed a lack of coverage for professional hockey. As a college student and aspiring writer, I figured it would be good exercise. I started writing a blog centering around the Pittsburgh Penguins and everything relating to the city of Pittsburgh titled Jagoffs, Beers, and Brats.

Several years later I graduated college and started writing full-time, doing minor acting and modeling jobs for income. I decided to cast a broader net and joined Sports Fiend. My sarcastic demeanor and their willingness to put up with my sarcastic demeanor were an instant match. A month later, my Sporting News blog was picked up by a local radio station KDKA 1020AM.

The interview on KDKA validated a lot of the research and work I had done. Several months later I started writing for Hockey’s Future, first as the St. Louis Blues staff writer and now as the Pittsburgh Penguins staff writer. Covering the Penguins for me is a dream since a child that is slowly but surely being realized.

So I invite you all to join me in realizing a dream, or at the very least, engage in some Black n Gold banter.
