Giants VS Ravens: Postgame

The Giants once again proved they are the best team in the NFC, as they rolled over the Ravens 30-10 on Sunday.  The Ravens had the best rushing defense in the league going into Sunday’s game, but were left scratching their heads as the Giants’ backfield, better known as Earth, Wind, and Fire racked up 207 yards on the ground.  It appeared once the Giants running game got a couple of good rushes, the O-line came to life and opened up the holes necessary to do the damage that was done to the stingy Ravens’ defense.

Eli did not have the best day as he completed 50% of his passes and threw an interception that cost the Giants a field goal attempt at the end of the first half. I guess with a strong defense and running game a QB can get away with a subpar performance.  Eli did not only benefit from the running game but also by the strong performance by the O-line which allowed only one sack to be committed.

Defensively the Giants played excellent led by Aaron Ross, who had two interceptions on the day, the second of the two being brought back 50 yards for a TD.  These two interceptions were the first thrown by Joe Flacco since the Ravens began their winning streak.  As it turned out they were also a big reason the Ravens fell out of position to win the game.  The Giants’ defense also came up with a blocked field goal in the first half which appeared to give the team momentum as they went into halftime with a 20-3 lead.

The Giants are now at 9-1 and are set to cruise into the playoffs. In my opinion they are the best team in the whole league and while Tennessee is still undefeated, I think the Giants are a more well rounded team capable of going on to repeat as Superbowl Champions.  Maybe the Titans will meet them in the Superbowl while still being undefeated; we all know the Giants love to play the spoilers.

The Giants remaining schedule:@ ARZ, @ Wash, Phi, @ Dal, Car, @ Minn

I’m getting dejavu of when the Patriots win the superbowl as the underdog, and came back for the next several years to be one of the leagues elite, even though it still took a while for them to be seen as elite. Only this time it’s the Giants doing it.

I don’t think that anyone is underestimating them now. (is it too late to change my 6-10 prediction for them ???)

Lee, I thought the Giants were going to have a tough go of it in the pre-season, mostly because the NFC east looked so dominant. It appears they are like I said the most well rounded team in the league. They also fill holes in the line up with talent that would be starting on any other team.

Hey Adam, do you think Jacobs is going to play this week or should I roll with Ward? I love the Giants, mainly because of last year’s superbowl where they saved me from hearing about a Patriots perfect season for the rest if my life from my brother in law…

Coach Coughlin thinks he’ll be able to practice tomorrow so I’d be ready to start him if I were you. Although he could be lying and when Sunday rolls around you could be wishing you had Ahmad Bradshaw instead.
