Titans v Jags Is this the week?

The Titans travel to Jacksonville for a rematch of the first game of the year.  Jacksonville’s playoff hopes rest on winning this game.  The Titans are looking to make it to 10-0.  Will this be the week the Titans get their first loss of the season?

The key to the game will be what it always is when these two teams meet, whoever wins the line of scrimmage battle wins the game.  If the Titans continue to have success running the ball against the Jaguars they will win easily.  If the Jaguars can control the clock with the one-two punch of Jones-Drew and Taylor then they can pull this game out.  The Titans would like to force David Garrard to throw the ball and make the mistakes he made in the first game this season.

LenDale White and Chris Johnson are coming off a bad game against the Bears where the team was limited to 20 yards rushing.  I expect that they will fare much better in this one.  The Titans return man Chris Carr has been excellent this season and is probably one of the most underrated free agent signings of the season.  The Jags are ranked first in kick coverage so it will be interesting to see who wins this battle.

The Titans have had some success in countering their old defensive coordinator Gregg Williams when facing him as an opponent.  Kyle Vanden Bosch is still doubtful for this week but Dave Ball and Jacob Ford have done a good job filling in.  Keith Bulluck is still recovering from his rib injury and will be a key factor this week as well.

I like the Jags plus the 3 points this week and think they have a shot at winning this one outright.

Jags 21 Titans 17
