Hit A Deer But Finally Here

I started the trek to Virginia on Wednesday night down a new route that Google Maps drew out for me.  What I didn’t know about November in this area of the country is that it’s deer season and on the 522 in West Virginia one ran out in front of my car.  Luckily for me I was alert and swerved and it kinda slid off the side of my car.  Deer okay, me okay and car okay (just a little dent on the side).  Now that I’m here and have talked Redskins with other fans down here, it’s truly sinking in.  I’m going be at that game and it’s going to be a night I’ll never forget.

Player Updates

  • WR Malcolm Kelly has been injured all season with a knee injury.  If you even remember who this guy is, the Redskins drafted him in round 2.  If his knee did not respond, Jim Zorn was going to place him on injury reserve.  The good news for Kelly is that he’s been practicing hard all week, but the possibility to play on Sunday is low.  “I don’t believe I am going to activate Malcolm this week because he is so far behind as far learning and reacting to all of the situations that’s come up,” Zorn said. “I’m just glad that he’s feeling no pain and the knee is not swelling.”
  • RB Clinton Portis is still questionable and will be a game-time decision.
  • RB Ladell Betts is practicing and wearing a brace.
  • LB Marcus Washington is listed as “a little less than questionable” with a shoulder injury.
  • CB DeAngelo Hall is expected to play 20-30 snaps and just how much he plays will all depend on Shawn Springs return (which is probable as he’s been practicing all week).

Sunday night’s game is going to be the Jason Campbell come back game.  His last game before the bye week saw his first interception thrown all season (clocked another one later in the game).  If RB Clinton Portis is not playing, Alexander and Betts will pickup the slack, but the passing game is going to be that much more important.  The return of Tony Romo to the Dallas Cowboys will spark their offense, which has been dismal since he injured his pinky.  Dallas is also coming off a bye week and are rested.

The last time the Redskins met the Cowboys was in Dallas and Dallas was rated #1 at the time in offense.  The Skins won and the Cowboys are looking to redeem themselves.  The Cowboys are favoured for this game.  I just don’t see it and will be witness to the Redskins win first hand!

Get prepared and learn the Redskins Fight Song:

Hail to the Redskins !

Hail to victory !

Braves on the war path !

Fight for old D.C !

Run or pass and score,

We want a lot more !

Beat em, Swamp em, Touchdown,

Let the points soar !

Fight on… Fight On…

Til you have won,

Sons of Washington !

It’s to bad Portis isn’t 100% for this one, still you could not have picked a better game to be at.
