Flames Take On NHL’s Hottest Team Tonight

First off I must give a big thanks to Kevin and Mark for giving me the opportunity to blog for the Calgary Flames. I’m a huge hockey fan, watching The Greatest Game on Earth since I was a little kid. I was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario for most of my life than eventually moved to Calgary, Alberta back in the early 90’s. While in Calgary for 10yrs I grew to love the Flames and the battle of Alberta, even the drives from Calgary to Edmonton were battles! Eventually I moved back Ottawa in early 2000 to be with family.
I must say I am a Senators fan but I always have place for the Flames and this is a great opportunity to give back.
Tonight’s game:
Flames (9-7-1) @ San Jose (13-3-1) NHL’s best record
Tuesday night’s game in Calgary against a surprising and energetic Leafs team came down to the very end. Calgary was up by three with six minutes remaining but they hung on to the win 4-3 with Toronto having all the momemtum and Kiprusoff doing what he does best, stopping the puck. Calgary will need a 60 minute effort against a Shark team that hasn’t lost at home in regular time yet this year if they expect to win. We should expect Kiprusoff as San Jose averages 32 shots per game. Here’s hoping Iginla and company have revenge on the Sharks tonight.
Nabokov is not expected to play while Brian Boucher will be between the pipes for San Jose also Cheechoo could be back in the lineup . For Calgary Jim Vandermeer is expected to be sidelined 6 weeks with a broken ankle.
My apologizes for the short pre-game but I will have a complete post-game tomorrow following a Flames win!
The Heat is On!
