Rams- Midweek Chat- Week 9

As the Rams get ready to face the NY Jets this Sunday in the Meadowlands, they will be preparing for that game with a bunch of injury concerns at wide receiver, running back, and linebacker.

Coach Jim Haslett announced on Tuesday that wide receivers Drew Bennett and Dante Hall would both be put on IR, thus ending their seasons.

Bennett, who was injured in the first game of the season vs the Giants, is not much of a loss as he has had no impact in the Rams 2-6 record, but losing Hall will effect both the return game and passing game.

Further to the Rams injury woes, is RB Antonio Pittman who suffered a hamstring injury against the Cards. He is most likely out for the game against the Jets.

The last injury concern is LB Chirs Draft who will be out 3-6 weeks after also suffering an injury against the Cards. He is dealing with a foot fracture.

Add all of these to an Steven Jackson coming off a bad performance and trying to get healthy, and the Rams are suffering the injury woes, which at the beginning of the season I said they would have to avoid, to challenge for a playoff spot.

With the Cards having a 3 game lead over the Rams, Seahawks, and 49ers in the NFC West, the post season opportunity may have already slipped away.

It looked like it could be getting better there for a couple weeks, but maybe that was just wishful thinking. Look on the bright side, at least your team can muster up at least a point or 2!

Lol very true Lee. The Oakland situation is a complete mess…I feel bad for the fans.
