Very interesting trade from both sides. In the offseason it was expected the Pistons would shake things up after their third consecutive Conference Final loss, and here it is.
Not sure if I like the move though, Iverson will be an FA this year, while the Nuggets now get Billups for the next three seasons. He’ll be able to feed JR Smith and Carmelo all day. But the Pistons get an soon to be FA All Star for one year, no pressure Coach Curry.

Odd deal, for Detroit Rodney Stuckey must really be their point guard of the future but do they play Iverson at PG for now? he really is a shoot first player. The rest of the pieces Rip Hamilton, Rasheed Wallace and Tayshun Prince have relied on Chauncy to run the offense and get them the ball in open spaces but now what? I can’t help feel Detroit made themselves worse just because the new piece doesn’t fit with their formula eg Shaq in a Suns uniform.
Denver gets a pass first, deep shooting point guard they wanted desperately to add to a back court of JR Smith and Carmelo, plus have a current frontcourt of Nene, Antonio Mcdyess and Martin if they can only play as good as they look on paper they win this deal easily.

Hopefully we’ll see Wednesday, the Pistons are in town to face the undefeated Raptors who will be looking to go 4-0 for the first time in franchise history.
Although slight caveat, AI had the highest average of any Raptors opponent last season, 32 PPG.
