Cards dominate the Rams and take stranglehold of NFC West division lead

The Arizona Cardinals are for real folks and they won their 2nd game on the road this year to take a strangehold on the NFC West division, with a 34-13 thumping of the St. Louis Rams.  The Cards now hold a 3 game lead over all three division rivals.

The Cards started rookie Tim Hightower at RB in place of Edgerrin James, and in his career start he didn’t disappoint as he piled up 109 yards on the ground, including 30 yard TD run that put the Cards up 17-7 as they never looked back.

Kurt Warner continues to impress completing 23 of 34 for 342 yards and 2 TD’s.  Matt Leinhart ain’t seeing the field this year, not with the Cards sitting at 5-3 and in total control of the division.

Antrel Rolle had his 4th career INT for a TD that tied the game and seemed to give the Cards back momentum after stalling on 4th and goal from the one yard line on the opening drive.

Arizona now faces the SF 49ers at home as they host Monday Night Football before travelling to Seattle the following week.  Two wins against these 2 opponents would most likely lock up the NFC West crown.

Its sad when you are 5-3 but have a 3 game lead on everyone in your division, yet your division is better then the AFC WEST.

Zona may have gotten their foot out of the pile, and that is nice to see.

Agreed! I covered this team for 3 years when I lived in Scottsdale and that city deserves a winner. Cards could surprise alot of people in the NFC. I could see them winning 10 or 11 games and that could give them a first round bye!
