Dallas heads to New York to play the Champion New York football Giants

This Sunday has the Dallas Cowboys travelling to New York, well actually New Jersey, Meadowlands to play the New York football Giants in what is one of the biggest games of the season for the Cowboys. I guess one could say that any game against the Super Bowl champions is a pretty big game.
Dallas is only 5-3 and although they won last week against Tampa Bay, I don’t like to say it but had they lost the game against Tampa Bay, they would be 4-4 and a loss to the Giants would have put Dallas below .500 which is something we at Cowboy Nation do not want to see. It has been a while since Dallas dropped below the .500 mark.Â
Certainly we can say the Cowboys have not lived up to the expectations that everyone expected this year but maybe that is a blessing in disguise and the Cowboys can sneak up on teams, or so we hope. Â
Dallas has been showing that Brad Johnson is not the guaranteed starter this Sunday as the practise field has seen signs of 3rd string QB Brooks Bollinger whom you never know may take some snaps or at least have him prepared if he is to enter the game.  This means that Dallas starting quarter back Tony Romo is no closer to starting this Sunday.
Dallas will have a healthy batch of wide receivers and one running back, Marion Barber III ready to start. Tight end and yes my favourite Jason Witten has confirmed a cracked rib but looks to be in uniform and may even potentially start. (gotta love that)
The last time these two teams met was in last years divisional playoff game which we all know was won (21-17) by the Giants who went on to win the Super Bowl. Although each team has had some additions and deletions to their rosters, a lot remains the same except for this Sunday when of course Romo won’t be in uniform which is one major change to the Dallas line-up.
Last week the Giants went into Pittsburgh and beat a pretty good Steeler team and it was shown that the Giants played an entire 60 minutes while the Steelers let up a bit when they should not of.  This is going to be key this Sunday in that the Cowboys can’t let up at all, they must play an entire 60 minute game if they plan on beating the Giants which will put everything they have into this game. This game could be won in the air with both teams having excellent receiving corps although both teams can bring excellent running games with the Giants having three excellent backs which may be rough on the Dallas offensive line. Dallas is the underdog and again must play an entire 60 minute of flawless football if they intend to come out with a victory. It can happen, it might happen, the game is at the Giants home field and Mother Nature so far has the weather in the 9-10 degree Celsius range, cloudy and sunny so probably not much of an impact on the game, may the best team win.
I am heading to New Orleans so have a good weekend play safe and see ya’all for the post-game blog on Monday.

p.s—after this week the Cowboys come into a bye which will help mend some hurting Cowboys which is much needed. Than off to Washington, at home against San Francisco, home against Seattle, in Pittsburgh and will update the rest in further blogs…..
