Injury Updates

OT Chris Samuels, who missed his first game last week for the first time since 2003, will most likely play against the Steelers on Monday night.  “There is a little cartilage in there that’s irritating him,” Zorn said. “We’re not doing any surgery right now. We’re going to try to get him ready to play for Monday night [against Pittsburgh]. We’re going to try to get that thing to quiet down.”

S Chris Horton and DL Cornelius Griffin, who missed the Lions game, are expected to play.

WR Santana Moss suffered a mild hamstring injury during Lions game, but later returned to the game.  His return is probable.  “It swelled up on him, so we’ll just wait and see at the end of the week how it feels,” Jim Zorn said on Monday.

RB Clinton Portis also suffered an injury during the Lions game and is also listed as probable.  Most player injuries are going to be tested on Monday night as the Skins have their bye week the next week.  “Clinton has some soreness in his ankle, and his hip flexor is always an issue,” Jim Zorn said.  “He has been a workman. He is sore. We have one more push and then he gets a little break [courtesy of the bye week]. We just have to fight through the rest of the season.”

DE Jason Taylor and CB Shawn Springs are not expected to play on Monday night.  Jason Taylor received a second “medical procedure” on his calf and Springs’ MRI showed damage to his calf.

Redskins meet the 5-2 Steelers on Monday night football.  Will have preview blog on Friday.

Hail to the Redskins.  Halfway there!
