And Philly wins the World Series!!!!
Baseball is over for about 15 days, then it’s next season!!! WOOHOO!!!

Congrats to the Phils! Let the Manny Ramirez rumours begin!!!
October 29th, 2008 at 7:26 pm
Yeah, definitely deserved, although I was cheering for the Rays (something inside me craves underdogs)… At least it won’t interrupt hockey anymore, or football!

I would love to just comment on this like the Americans do about our hockey Champions…… “who cares”……
On a serious note Congrats to Philly and may your maniac fans burn your classless city to the ground, or at least the Wachovia Center as the Flyers just handed it to my Devils twice over the weekend….
a very bitter JerseyJay

Sadly as an American I can say what Jayson said is true. However I am proudly in the minority and will support the Rangers all season long.
Then again its not just relegated to hockey, as the obnoxious group of football fans are saying the same thing about the Phillies winning the world series right now.

Glad to have another Rangers fan on board! I live in Ottawa, but jumped off the Senators bandwagon a few years ago when they divested themselves of all the talented European players they had… Being Czech, the Rangers were a natural fit at the time, with Jagr, Straka, Prucha, Rozsival, Malik, etc…
We’re off to a great start this season, even without all the Czechs!!! GO RANGERS!

Yeah Dan good to have you aboard. Its been a fun season so far and if you’ve listened to Gomez on the radio (if you live in the NY/NJ area) he makes a good point that they could still do better. Drury needs to heat up and I still think Naslund has more to offer.

simply put Go Flyers !!!!
October 30th, 2008 at 10:53 am
Go where? Back to the basement of the Eastern Conference?
Seriously, injuries aside, what’s wrong with the Flyers so far? Is Biron simply not good enough to carry the team, or is there some kind of coaching issue? I expected them to be MUCH better than they’ve shown so far…

Joe there are obnoxious everywhere for damn near everyteam, this can not be just tossed the way oh any fan for any team in philly. I have scene games all across the country as I am sure some bloggers on this site have and can say first hand I have scene just as many at other sites then here.
As for hockey I am a huge fan of the sport and even if my team is not in it I enjoy a good game/playoff series. I even go as far as researching prospects for each years draft, get scouting reports, read mock draft, & have attended a draft. It’s just all in how much of a die hard fan you are for the sport not just your favorite team.

It’s the defense suffering injuries is part of it but not playing team defense has been the biggest problem. In the last 3 games it has improved very well and will get better. If you notice we lead or are at the top of the league in scoring goals that is fine just team defense is the biggest problem.
Any fan knows you can have the best goalie in the world but if your team defense is not playing well even they will be exposed at some point.

not sure if many flyers fan will say this but i want the rangers, penguins, and devils to be playing well. To me it makes each game they play that much more fun to be at or watch when both are in the thick of the races.

James maybe I missed the idea of what you were saying in your response to my post, but I wasn’t saying anything negative about the Philly fans, but just people in general who like to put down other sports because they aren’t interested. I was citing Dan’s example when some people say “who cares” in regards to hockey.
And yes I agree with you James, these people are everywhere.
As for the Flyers, I’d just chalk it up to a bad start, I expect them to contend this season. On the other hand it is nice to see the Islanders struggle.
October 30th, 2008 at 12:00 pm
My response was just in general too, my apologize for having it directed to you, i realzed that after i hit submit and couldn’t change it.
In other news I will be in attendance tonight (as I have been for all but 8 games including playoffs going on 4 years) as the Flyers take on those Islanders.
October 30th, 2008 at 12:03 pm
Chalk up a win for the Flyers tonight. The Islanders are definitely front-runners for Tavares/Hedman in next year’s draft. Their only competition is going to be Atlanta and Los Angeles (who I still don’t understand… That team has SOOO MUCH offensive talent, yet they can’t win!!! Defence sucks, I know, but you’d think they’d win 7-6 on any given night…).
Enjoy the game!
October 30th, 2008 at 12:12 pm
No worries James. You seem like a big Philly sports fan who is passionate about his teams. I respect that.
October 30th, 2008 at 12:38 pm
Toss in Jarred Cowen, Matt Duchene, & Brayden Schenn those are good quality top 5 kids also at this point.
October 30th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
As you are for New York squads minus the Islanders & Mets !
October 30th, 2008 at 2:07 pm
Hey, we all have common ground! We all don’t want the Islanders doing well!!! GROUP HUG!
