AFC Top 10 Rankings

Here are my AFC Top 10 for the week.   It is a wide up race for the playoffs after 8 weeks.

1.                   Tennessee Titans        7-0

The Titans have been at the top all month.  They passed a test on Monday by beating the Colts and extending their division lead to 4 games.  They are 2 games better than the rest of the Conference.

2.                   Pittsburgh Steelers        5-2

Will Big Ben be able to hold up with that pour offensive line and no running game?  They should get Parker back soon and that will help.

3.                   Buffalo Bills              5-2        ▲1

The Bills suffered a tough loss against the Fins.  Their body of work still warrants the 3 spot.

4.                   NE Patriots         5-2        ▲1

They don’t do anything pretty but you have to give them credit.  They keep winning and are again fighting for the division title.

5.                   Denver Broncos        4-3        ▼2

This is a team that could break either way.  They could end up in the top 3 or in the bottom half.  Erratic running game and an inconsistent defense have to be of large concern to Shanahan.

6.                   Baltimore Ravens        4-3

They will be in the hunt all year and will be in every game because of the defense.

7.                   New York Jets        4-3        ▲3

They aren’t better talent wise than the next 3 or 4 teams ranked below them but they are winning even if it is ugly.  Favre keeps them in the top 10.

8.                   Indianapolis Colts        3-4

They suffered a tough loss against the Titans.  They are getting some of their guys back.  Another team that could go either way now that they are 4 games out of the division lead, though they are still in the wildcard hunt.

9.                    Miami Dolphins        3-4        New

They have a solid QB and a good running game.  The surprise of the NFL so far.  Tony Sparano is coach of the year thus far.

10.                Jacksonville Jags        3-4        ▼3

A favorite among pre-season predictions for the Super Bowl, they have had too many injuries on their offensive line and David Garrard has not lived up to expectations.
