Hawk Talk - 49ers vs Seahawks

Well as you can tell this weeks preview is a little shorter than normal as I am still having a hard time discussing the team right now. I can’t help but feel I am saying the same things over and over and that there is no orignal thought needed to blog for this team.

I’ll go back to what I said in my post game last week what seperates a good team from being a bad team is maybe 3-5 key plays a game, look at the turnaround of the Rams or the fall of the Colts, right now in the NFL there is so much parody in the league what seperates the teams isn’t that much.

This is a game of two teams struggling in the moment, they both hve talent but it’s execution.

For the Hawks the Keys to the game remain the same,

3rd Down, we have srtuggled badly on 3rd down converting plays and keeping drives alive, the quick pass attack we thought we had has been in-effective, and we have not been able to find anything down field big plays for us are non existent.

Running Attack, we live by the run we die by the run that simple, if Julius doesn’t go off on Sunday we lose, we are not a team that can beat you passing, not any team right now regardless of their secondary.

Defense, the secondary has been awful opposing Qb’s are loving to get us as we represent an instant QB rating boost of 10%, we have struggled in coverage, cannot cause turnovers and are allowing way to many big plays.

This is a season breaker should we lose this look for the organization to seriously consider my suggestion of giving Holmgren the rest of the season off, but if we win, it at least squashs the rumour until after are homegame the following Sunday.

No prediction this week, just hope…

My question is will they ever go back to using julius jones and the running game. They have pretty much left it at the curb.

Well I’d like to blame somebody for the fact I am 1 - 6 in my fantasy league and the fact he has been getting me nothing hurts. And headed to keep my place for the remainder of the season in the basement.

Thankfully I have a fantasy hockey league that I am having success in to keep me happy.
