The Oakland Raiders come to play the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EST. The Ravens are coming off a 27-13 win against the Miami Dolphins. While the Oakland Raiders are coming off a shocking win 16-13 against the NY Jets. The Ravens sit second in the division at 3-3 behind the 5-1 Pittsburgh Steelers. The Ravens offense is coming off an impressive performance from last week maybe their best of the season. Flacco had arguably his best performance last week and set a career high for passer rating. The offensive line had an impressive performance last week even with missing RG Marshal Yanda and RT Adam Terry. This week Terry had arthroscopic knee surgery and will be out 2-3 weeks. Expect backup center Chris Chester to continue at RG and RT Willie Anderson will start for Adam Terry again. KR Yarmon Figurs missed last week’s game and did not practice Thursday. His status is questionable for Sunday. CB Samri Rolle and S Dwan Landry will both miss their fourth straight week. CB Chris McAllister did not start last week as CB Frank Walker and Fabian Washington got the nod. McAllister’s benching did not come as a surprise because he has had an awful season. Washington and Walker played very well last week and actually boosted the secondary.

The Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan will be facing his brother Rob Ryan who is the defensive coordinator for the Raiders. The Raiders defense will try to shut down the Ravens offense that is on a roll right now. The Ravens passing game last week finally matched the Ravens run game. The Ravens running game had another impressive week with Willis McGahee having probably his best game of the season. The Ravens defense had another impressive game last week and seem to have figured out their secondary problems by not playing McAllister. I am not saying McAllister is a bad cornerback. I am just saying he has not had a good season and did not make many good plays. He was getting beat by pure speed, which isn’t usual for McAllister. The Ravens will look to move above .500 this week with a good solid performance on both sides of the ball. I am predicting a 23-10 win for the Ravens.

Could the Ravens have a letdown this week?

When you look at the Ravens schedule, you would think they need to at least go 2-1 over the next three games.

The Raiders, Browns and Texans are all teams you need to beat if you want to make the postseason.

I mean….after those three games the Ravens schedule gets pretty nasty. I don’t think there is a single sure victory outside of the week 13 match up with the Bengals.

The time is now for the Ravens to really step up.

I totally agree. I think they do have a really tough schedule and they will have to play well through these next games.

Hey Tyler, nice blog. I was looking for it for the past few days, and I missed it every time until now.
Your assessment of the game looks to have a lot of truth to it, but as you would have guessed, I hope you’re wrong.

Thanks for the mention, and sorry I didn’t mention your blog, but as I said, I couldn’t seem to find it.

Good luck this sunday (actually no, I can’t lie….I don’t want luck on your side, because we are in tough enough as it is :) )
