The offensive line of the Washington Redskins has had many nicknames throughout the years and without them, RB Clinton Portis would not have his numbers.  The Redskins ranked 3rd in the ground game and Clinton Portis is first.  Jim Zorn has a new nickname for this line and it’s the “Salty Dogs.”  “They have a toughness about themselves,” Zorn said. “They love to run the ball. They communicate very well and they work together as a unit.”

In other news, once again RB Clinton Portis has been nominated as the FedEx Ground Player of the Week (not affiliated with FedEx Field).  To nominate Portis, click on http://www.nfl.com/partner?partnerType=players-air-and-ground.

Here are the Top Rated Washington Redskins Players for Week 7.  In the 13 categories from the NFL.com, 4 Redskins are ranked in the Top 5.  In his first game as a Redskin, punter Plackemeier is rated number 1.  Great decision Zorn!
