Turmoil in Dallas Nation

O.K, where do I start? I know all of you are just waiting for me to say the word ‘turmoil’ again.   I am starting to think that the Dallas Cowboys must have a player only meeting and get back to the basics.  Are the Cowboys in a state of turmoil? Close but as a few TV analysts pointed out, this team might still hit rock bottom before they climb back up in the standings.

This is a difficult blog for me as I was at the Chargers/Bills game in Buffalo and while I was keeping an eye on the out of town scoreboard I had to deal with the no power at Ralph Wilson stadium.  I only saw highlights of the Rams/Cowboys tilt.

The Dallas Cowboys lost to the lowly St. Louis Rams on Sunday.   Final score St. Louis 34, Dallas Cowboys 14.   I hate saying the score when the Cowboys lose and it is not sitting nicely with this blogger but the Rams are full value for their win.

Newly acquired wide receiver Roy Williams did not get one catch the entire ball game.  WR Terrell Owens had only 2 catches and back-up quarterback Brad Johnson threw 3 interceptions which did not help the cause.  The Rams ran the ball, the Rams threw the ball and dominated pretty much from start to finish.  The Rams caused 4 Dallas turnovers.  Who do these St. Louis Rams think they are?  Okay, well I am just kidding about that comment but the Rams after starting 0-4 have gone and beat two good teams that are hoping to make the playoffs in the Redskins and Cowboys.  It goes to show you what a new coach can do sometimes I guess.

Dallas also lost strong safety Roy Williams (different Roy Williams from the recent trade) and the Cowboys woes continue to mount up to the point where Dallas owner Jerry Jones is realizing his team maybe in a state of turmoil.

Dallas has already lost the same amount of games it lost all of last season.

There is not much more to say as the Cowboys clearly got beat from an up and coming Ram squad.

I can only stay positive and hope that the Cowboys will do what they have to do to re-group, get back to their strategy and get back to their winning ways which is just what every Cowboy player strives for every game.  Are there too many individuals and not enough team play?

Dallas has Tampa Bay coming to town for this Sunday’s game .  This will really test the Cowboys as clearly Tampa Bay is playing some of its best football since their Super Bowl day.  I will not predict an outcome but if Dallas plans on keeping this game close, they must start to play 60 full minutes of football.

Comments, concerns, questions are encouraged from you Dallas supporters and non-supporters which I am sure I am going to have a field day with me.  Bring it on and I will answer as professionally as possible.

First off let me say thank you, my fantasy team sitting at 1-5 in our STB League needed a big game from Steven Jackson.

But I must admit I was shocked at this score and result. This team legitimately was being compared to the ‘07 Patriots after the first couple of weeks of this season now they have lost to arguably one of the worst teams in the NFC.

As the Patriots blogger I can understand the difficulty of replacing a backup quarterback but c’mon.

You can consider me “worried” about this club. They really need to turn it around and fast.

Right now I am not the happiest Cowboy fan but one has to keep the faith……strong word but Jerry Jones does not like to lose…..about the only positive thing I can say right now…..

I’m not anywhere close to a Dallas fan I must admit. I saw this coming though. A country club training camp and a head coach with no power. When you don’t have the mental toughness on your team in crunch time or during adversity you always lose. The injuries are a factor to say the least but this was a fragile team with a glass jaw.

I cannot throw in the towel right now as to my beloved Cowboys but the Cowboys have to go back to school and get back to basics and winning football games….go Cowboys…..have to be optimistic…..Tampa Bay game will be a HUGE test this Sunday…..Should be a great game…..

This team is starting to realize that they are not as good as they thought they were, BUT with that said, they are still one of the elite in the league. They need to get their egos in check, and build their identity as a team, and not as individuals. They are far too good to be loosing so many games, and if they start to play to their potential, WATCH OUT!
This might just be the best thing to happen to this team, because now they know that they have to earn their wins, and that it is not just the playoffs that they need to worry about, but getting there as well.

good comments Lee, I totally agree, especially the TEAM comment, they are talented that is forsure, now they have to show it off a little but in a professional manner….win baby win, my Dallas motto……

As many of you have mentioned, when the inmates run the asylum you are in trouble. When your owner has to sound off and address the reporters, it goes to show you what a joke it all has become in Dallas.

Deion said it best on the NFL Network. There is no structure on this team and this country club atmosphere is going to backfire badly on Phillips. Nobody knows who is running the GONGSHOW! Because that is what it has become, a gongshow with Jerry Jones.

Deion blasted them for going after another offensive when their problems were so obvious on defense. Get a vet and playmaker on defense.

Cris Carter talked about it today on a panel on ESPN Radio about how Jerry Jones never even called Phillips or OC Jason Garrett to see if Roy Williams would fit in or at least ask Phillips what he thought the team needed more, an offensive or defensive playmaker. That speaks volumes about what an idiot Jerry Jones is, he deserves everything that happens to his team. Sorry Glenn, but thats the truth and the Cowboys are a train wreck!

First let me say Glenn being a Eagles fan I’d be lying if I wasn’t enjoying seeing Dallas suffer.

That being said I do like to see them doing well because it makes our rivarly games so much better.

    Dan Rakusan Says:

Can’t believe I am about to make my second reference to the dreaded Toronto Maple Leafs, but Kevin’s comment about the country club atmosphere really brings that to light… It’s true that the “star” players on Dallas seem to take things for granted, and that is reinforced by Jerry Jones’ constant meddling… Realistically, I think they’re screwed unless they put in a more concerted effort in the weeks to come… And I picked them to win the Super Bowl… For shame…

    Glenn Stants Says:

I love the comments folks, keep them coming even if negative against the Boys. Gotta stir some contraversy. The Cowboys are walking backwards and I agree with what you are saying Kev, I really do and for Jerry Jones to meddle in a trade without first consulting ANYONE is just plain wrong. Maybe the Cowboys should wear the stripes of an inmate to the next practise but they really do have to start to win games as they have talent but right now on one is using their talent to good use. To knock it all, Dan has to comment on my beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. I will be outside their dressing room tonight so keep an eye out for me….go Leafs GO, OOPS, Go Cowboys GO….yikes….someone just win….please…..cheers….

    Glenn Stants Says:

I hear ya james but good or bad these two teams will always be a HUGE rivarly…..Philly hates Dallas and Dallas hates Philly, that is clear when speaking with anyone who knows anything about the NFL….always better of course when the games are close and exciting….they do play again later on in the season so stayed tuned…
