Hawk Talk - Quick Recap of Sunday

I’ll post my full recap tonight…

For the first time this season I found myself ready to turn the game off, the frustration level is peaking for fans and players right now.

I resisted the urge but I couldn’t help but feel the Tampa Bay Buc’s first TD, is a good mirror of how things have played out for us this season. Kelly Jennings who had been called out in the pre-season and benched already this year, has perfect one on one coverage on Antonio Bryant, determined to play better and be better, he looks in perfect position to make a play, on a long pass by Jeff Garcia, it will be broken up at least for sure, then a split second before the ball arrives the players legs tangle Kelly hits the turf, Bryant makes an easy catch an strolls into the end zone for six, I felt bad for Kelly.

It struck me that what separates a good team from a bad isn’t much in the NFL, just look at the turn around of the Rams, I remembered a quote from Michael Jordan albeit meant for the NBA it fits “what separates a good player from a bad is the speed and confidence with which they do their move” it insinuates that at this level every player is capable but not every player is confident.

For the Hawks we are going to need to find ours quickly if anything positive is going to be made of this season

That is an awesome point that you make. So often a team can win or lose games because of simple little plays like the one you mentioned. And when it starts to go bad, it usually stays bad until your guys get a good break.
