Despite a first inning homer from Dustin Pedroia the Rays rallied Sunday night to take the decisive game of the ALCS 3-1, and send the defending World Series champion Red Sox home to ponder Matt Cassel’s arm strength.

Matt Garza out dueled Jon Lester and the Rays rookie pitcher David Price pitched 1.1 innings of shutout ball, getting out of a bases loaded jam in eighth, to get the save and send Tampa in to full out party mode.

The Rays will now play the Phillies, starting Wednesday night, who clinched the National League pennant finishing the L.A. Dodgers off in five games.

I jumped on the Ray bandwagon in July when I started watching alot of their games on my mlb.tv package. It is great to see new teams in the series and a young and exciting team like the Rays.
