Saints @ Panthers Preview

After a horrible performance at Raymond James Stadium the Panther’s look to come home to lick their wounds against a red hot Saints team. It doesn’t bode well for the Cats but week in and week out in the NFL anything can happen just ask the Redskins and the Cowboys.
Saints at a glance….
So it’s the Saints who are now coming off a huge win against a hapless team in the AFC West in the Oakland Raiders, sound familiar?? Drew Brees leads a solid airborne attack and was nearly flawless last week in their victory. The Saints have been anything but consistent this young campaign hence the (3-3) record. The Saints have been solid against the run this season on Defence. With the possible additions of Marcus Colsten and Jeremy Shockey who are both questionable for this Sunday’s tilt the Saints could potentially get on the roll that everyone thought they would be on all season long.
Panthers at a glance…
The Panther’s are reeling after their embarrassing loss on week 5, they were unable to get their all important run game going as the Buc’s who controlled the line of scrimmage. Steve Smith was the only Panther’s player to show up on week 5 and Jake Delhomme will look to bounce back from his worst outing since 2004. The key to this game will be the Panther’s pass rush to force the Saints to be one dimensional, If Brees has time in the pocket then the Panther’s will be in for a long day. Julius Peppers needs to step up his game and can someone tell me how the special teams coach still has a job? In the last year and a half the Panthers have not had even one TD coming from a punt return or a kickoff? and 3 blocked punts in 6 weeks is unexcuseable!!!
My Gut Feeling….
I am just getting over the sickening feeling of the cat food that the Panther’s made me ingest last week against the Bucs. Panthers win big, then lose big…. Saints win big, then….? With the uneasy feeling still remaining in my stomach I am thinking the Saints are going to keep pushing forward to make the NFC South even tighter. Saints win…..

Interesting that you are picking the Saints, but I like objective blogging. I really think the Panthers rebound at home but the Bucs exposed them last week and if the Saints pass rush can be similar to what TB did, I could see a Saints win.

Injection of Colston and Shockey plus coming off a big win it is hard to argue with that? The Saints were picked to win this division and I just have a feeling the tight division is just going to get tighter this weekend!
