The Baltimore Ravens travel to Miami this Sunday for a game at 1:00 p.m. EST on CBS against the Miami Dolphins. The Baltimore Ravens are coming of three straight loses. The Raven’s first two loses were only by 3 points but the last game they lost 31-3 against the Indianapolis Colts. The Ravens are currently in 2nd place in there division behind the first place Pittsburgh Steelers. Joe Flacco did not look good in his last start but during the week the Ravens are supporting Flacco and they know he still needs time to develop. The Ravens have confidence in him and want him to start every game the rest of the season. As for injuries this week the Ravens put starting RG Marshal Yanda on injured reserve and will miss the remainder of the season. This is a huge blow to the Ravens as RT Adam Terry has a bad knee right now but could still play. An option for Terry if he comes back is to play RG to fill in for Marshal Yanda and let former pro bowler Willie Anderson stay at RT. Another option is backup center Chris Chester who has been practicing at RG and could fill in the void created by Yanda. The Ravens are looking at both options right now. CB Samari Rolle and S Dwan Landry will both be out for the third straight week. The Raven’s S Ed Reed did not participate at practice on Wednesday and Thursday and he is questionable for Sunday’s game. It would be a huge blow to the Raven’s if Reed went out, as CB Chris McAllister would be the only regular starter in the secondary playing on Sunday.
The Ravens defence will look to rebound after a terrible performance last week, which mainly came from the secondary. The defence was playing very good for the first part of the season until last week. I think Ray Lewis will get this defence pumped up and look for the Ravens to have a great week on defence. Also look for Ray Lewis to have a big game this week as well. The Ravens will try to shutdown this Miami “wildcat” offence, which has been very successful this year so far. On offence the Ravens running backs will look to come back from a bad week last week and hopefully the offensive line can help them to do that. Willis McGahee struggled last week and hopefully he can rebound and have a good week. Ray Rice looked impressive last week but for Le’ron McClain, he struggled last week. With McClain struggling it should open up more carries for Rice. The main thing for the Ravens this week, if they want to have success, is if Joe Flacco can manage this game and make good decisions. Flacco did not look sharp last week and made some very poor decisions. Flacco had three interceptions and virtually no yards in the passing game. But if Flacco wants to have success he is going to need help from the offensive line. For the Ravens to win this game they are going to need good protection to help Flacco and they are going to need their defence to stop the Dolphins “wildcat” offence.

Ravens have the D to shutdown the Dolphins offense. I keep saying this but they need to keep Flacco playing all season. This guy has a ton of upside.
