After last week’s injury to backup RB Ladell Betts, the Redskins have signed 3-time pro bowl RB Shaun Alexander.  Alexander was released from Seattle in the offseason and will begin practicing with his new team today.

The Redskins have also signed P Ryan Plackemeier, who played for the Buffalo Bills in 2008, but released after week 1.  He will be taking over the punting from Rookie Durant Brooks, who was also injured during last week’s game.  Brooks’ punting has been on the downward spiral since he was signed.

The Redskins have placed S Reed Doughty on injury reserve and signed veteran defensive back Mike Green, who has played with Greg Bache back when he was in Chicago and played with Seattle last year.

So much can happen to one team after a loss to an 0-4 team!

A move that really shores up the depth for the Skins and shows they are serious contenders in the NFC, while willing to do anything to win.
