Hawk Talk Midweek Report - Hasslebeck Out This Week

Just when you thought it couldn’t get much worse in Seattle injuries prevent our best team being on the field again this Sunday, really would it have it made a difference, it’s hard to say but for a struggling team that already has a ton of injuries at skill positions, a minor coach controversy and no major identity on either side of the ball this isn’t helping our chances.

The original report on Matt’s injury was a hyper-extended knee “As it turns out, the back situation that he had aggravated in our preseason was actually creating the problem with his leg,” Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren said. “Now we know where we’re headed with the treatment, and it’s tied in with the disc situation.

Wait a minute this is a direct contradiction of the preseason press release certain media outlets led by ESPN and Chris Mortensen  reported that Matt had a bulging disc in his back and were concerned about his effectiveness with said injury, the official report was that Matt was suffering from “back spasms”.

Then why did we start him given the preseason Seneca Wallace had? with this knowledge Matt’s numbers become irrelevant asking a QB to be productive without the full starting receivers is one thing asking him to do it without them and a bulging disc is another.

More and more it is becoming apparent Holmgrens decision this year are questionable at best…

No word yet if Seneca Wallace and his injured calf are ready to play Sunday let’s hope so because as of right now Charlie Frye has been getting the snaps and prepping to start Sunday.

    Zach Smith Says:

Not to sound like a downer, but chalk up another loss. I would give Seneca Wallace the ball before that stiff Charlie Frye!

Me too Seneca has gotten some reps but it’s still undecided only because of Seneca’s leg otherwise if he’s healty enough he gets the nod
