Redskins Succumb to Overconfidence and Lose to Rams by 2

The Washington Redskins were expected to crush the St Louis Rams, but unfortunately for them, they not only lost, but their perfect zero turnover record was crushed. The game started off great. The Rams, in their opening drive fumble and it’s recovered by S LaRon Landry. The Skins take advantage of the turnover with a run TD from RB Clinton Portis. Off to a great start no?
Â
P Durant Brooks has a solid first punt, but they went downhill, along with the rest of the Redskins offense. The first offense turnover of the season for the Redskins is by TE Chris Cooley. They would turnover the ball 2 more times in the first half. The fumble that cost the Skins the most was when a Campbell pass was deflected. OL Pet Kendall caught the ball, but had momentary lapse in memory and thought he was a running back and tried the run the ball, but instead of dropping to the ground, he dropped the ball and the Rams take it in for a touchdown. The Skins are now behind 10-7 into the second.
Â
Now the Skins are behind in points, so perhaps this would spark something? Well, sort of. It also sparked the Rams and they went for it on a 4th and 4, got a first down then another field goal. QB Jason Campbell was continually sacked, Brooks continued with terrible punts, giving the Rams another FG to increase their lead by 9 at 16-7 Rams.
Â
The Redskin did manage a field goal to bring themselves closer and then there were actually some great passing and running. RB Clinton Portis got a second TD of the game to actually take lead at 17-16. However, the defense just could not keep the Rams out of field goal range, even after a 15 yard penalty against the Rams Incognito. The Rams 49 field goal is good, taking the win at 19-17.
Â
The only thing that made me feel better as a Redskin fan was to see Dallas lose as well (sorry Stantsy). At least we’re tied with them now at 4-2.Â

Glad our Cards did you a favour. I know Kev said it all week but I thought it too, trap games are very tough to avoid.

The Redskins, Cowboys, and the Panthers might have been guilty of this at least the Skins and the Boys put up a fight unlike my Panthers!!!

I wouldnt say overconfidence Mercedes, it is just a reality of the NFL, its impossible to get up every week the same way, regardless of the opponent!
Here is something worth checking out:

Looks like it’s just a crappy week for the NFC East. Giants got pounded last night by the Browns, Dallas lost to Cards along with Romo for 4 weeks, some key Skins players received minor injuries and only lost by 2 points at the very last second from a FG, so I’m not feeling too bad anymore!

Just checked out the article Kevin, thanks. What a great addition to this team he would make. Might as well charge the team name to Seattle Redskins. They are also bringing in a few more punters to try out as Brooks is injured and just not playing well at all.
