The Baltimore Ravens played the Indianapolis Colts this past Sunday at Lucas oil stadium. The Ravens lost 31-3. The Ravens moved to 2-3 on the season and face the Dolphins next week in week 7. The Colts defense dominated the Ravens offense and they could hardly move the ball. The Ravens could not run the ball against the worst run defense in the league. On defense the Ravens gave up a lot of huge pass plays that were just weak coverage’s by the Ravens corners. There were not a lot of positives that came out of this game for the Ravens. They turned the ball over five times with Flacco having three interceptions. Flacco was just making bad decisions. Instead of throwing it away when he couldn’t find anybody open he threw interceptions instead. The Ravens offense only managed 51 yards running against the worst run defense in the league. The Ravens had 209 passing yards and had a grand total of 260 yards of offense.

The running back tandem of McGahee and McClain did not play well. McGahee had 8 rushes for 18 yards and Le’ron McClain had 2 rushes for –2 yards and one fumble. They both played awful but they did not get good blocking from the Ravens young offensive line. The offensive line also did not give Flacco good pass protection, as he was sacked numerous times. Flacco I find is not good when he is under pressure and that’s when he throws his interceptions. I think all of his interceptions were out of the pocket when he threw the ball. One upside for the Ravens though is second year receiver Demetrius Williams had a great game. He tied his career high for catches with 5 for 50 yards. Another upside was rookie RB Ray Rice who did not have a bad game as he had 6 rushes for 26 yards and 7 receptions for 64 yards. As for the defense the secondary did not have a good game. Part of the reason is S Dwan Landry, CB Samri Rolle and CB Fabian Washington were all injured this week and it hurt the secondary. CB Chris McAllister gave up a lot of big plays to missed coverage’s against Marvin Harrison. Overall it was just a bad game for the Ravens and they will look to rebound next week when they face the Dolphins in Miami.

Why isnt Ray Rice getting involved more? I hope they stick with Flacco, he will be fine. Next game wont be easy either in Miami.

The Ravens are not sticking with Ray Rice because of the emergence of Le’ron McClain. As the season goes on, Rice will get more involved.
