Packers @ Seahawks Preview

Hi Fellow Cheeseheads,
Hope all of you are doing good this fine, NFL Sunday. I’m excited about today’s game. Both teams are in the middle of some early season adversity with less than superior records, mounting injuries, furious coaches and each game become the one that can make or break the season.
The Packers have been working all week (and the past several weeks during this 3 game losing streak) on football fundamentals. I believe if the Packers are to come out and win today’s game - you will see a ton of little things done right, a lot of special team efforts and some plays by some guys so far invisible all year (That’s right, I’m calling out KGB for some sacks today!).
Aaron Rodgers appears ready to start for the Packers - and like last week who knows how good and how long he will last. Everyone knows this - Rodgers has truly assumed his role as the #1, starting NFL QB and is learning to play hurt, play smart and mainly just play! What more can you want - and win he wins, he really seems to have a good overall day. But, like all sports this is a team effort. For that, he will need his backs and recievers to get open and assist in completions for yards. Ryan Grant only last week escaped the early season shadow where he ran for lackluster yardage. The Packers need this win just as badly as Seattle. Can the Packers banged up D put together enough of an effort?
Will the Seahawks led by former Packer coach Holmgren start Hasselbeck or go with Charlie Frye? The good thing about being a bit late with my preview blog is that come Sunday morning - most teams are pretty sure who’s gonna play, and in Seattle’s case, its pretty much a no-brainer. This in itself should erase the slight edge given by most to the Seahawks and their home field advantage and put these two teams on even terms.
Both teams have went in the same direction since the season got into full swing. Today’s game, may determine which way they head in the march toward their finall 2008 stats.
Green Bay has one more game after today at home vs. Indy before their Week 8 bye. Follwoing the bye week the following games remain.
Nov 2 - @ TEN
Nov 9 - @ MIN
Nov 16 - vs. CHI
Nov 24 - @ NO
Nov 30 - vs. CAR
Dec 7 - vs. HOU
Dec 10 - @ JAX
Dec 22 - @ CHI
Dec 28 - vs. DET
