Game preview/picks

The Oakland Raiders come off their bi week and travel to New Orleans this week to play the struggling Saints. If not for a couple botched plays and bad luck, the Saints would be 4-1. But, when we look at the Raiders, we could say that they could easily be 3-1.
So, lets take away the “could” and “should” and simply go with the “is”. The Saints are 2-3 and the Raiders are 1-3. This will be a game of who wants it more.
On paper the Saints have a stout offense and a banged up and dismal defense. The Raiders are quite the opposite, as their defense is strong and the offense is yet to be decided.
By all acounts the Saints should be able to wear down this Raiders defense and put some points on the board. The ability for the Raiders to keep momentum in the forth quarter will be key for the outcome of this game.
On offense, the Raiders will need to play with some concistancy, and get JaMarcus Russell more involved in the game. I believe that with the coaching change and new play caller, Russell will be given more of a chance to shine.
Justin Fargas should be back in the lineup, and his presence should be felt. Darren McFadden will be much better, now that his ailing foot has had some time to heal. So with our running game back, and Russell being given some chances, I believe that we will see an impressive display of offensive firepower in this game.
The Raiders will keep this game close, and it will come down to their ability to play all 4 quarters. If we continue to struggle in the 4th quarter, then we will loose another one, but if we take that next step, I believe that we could leave the Bayou with a W.
That said, I predict, Saints 28 Raiders 24. (but I hope I’m wrong)
Now on to my week 6 picks.

With NO coming off a short week, and Oakland off the bye, this could be set up for an upset!

Very true. It could also level the playing field, when you take homefield advantage into consideration.
I am really starting to think that the Raiders could win this one!

I think they can! NO has struggled mightily at times, and they just can’t seem to get on the same page offensively.
I’ll be pulling for the silver and black!

Saints are so hungry though. Going to be interesting!

That’s true. They will be desperate…or at least they should be.
