Cowboys get scare by the Bengals and get ready to face Arizona this Sunday

The Dallas Cowboys did not make it as easy as this blogger thought, I wanted them to but the outcome was a win over the Cincinnati Bengals 31-22 when I thought the Cowboys were going to trounce on the hapless Bengals.

The Cowboys looked good early creating a 17-0 score only to have the Bengals creep back and make a game of it.  The Bengals left Dallas 0-5 but gave everyone in Dallas their money’s worth with a hard fought battle.

The Cowboys showed some poise in getting back to a solid ground game and barely winning the time of possession battle with the Bengals edging them by 1 minute and 45 seconds closer.

The Cowboys got 198 ground yards split between Felix Jones and Marion Barber III which is exactly what Dallas needed to do to get back to their solid running game and show the NFL how good that running game is and the productivity the Cowboys can get out of their running backs.

Dallas wide receiver Terrell Owens is certainly showing an element of frustration but I see it as a whole with the Cowboys as the wins are not coming as easy and there are no real blow out scores.  In all honesty needs to get back to the TEAM focus and play together as a whole, which result in wins.   I really feel that when the Cowboys get their bye week that they need get out of Dallas and do what a lot of other teams do, something to grow together as a team and show everyone that one person does not make a team but everyone wearing that star on their shoulder, cap, uniform is ALL part of the TEAM.  A little team building could be the trick.  Play for one another, because lately this team certainly isn’t.

As a sidenote, Chad ‘whatever his last name is’ was held to 3 catches, 43 yards and the only thing Chad is catching this year is a cold.  Keep up the good work Chad and enjoy the post-season from your living room if you even care.

Dallas is off to Arizona this Sunday, see ya all Friday.

I really think Arizona defeats Dallas this Sunday, plus the added distraction of that idiot Adam Jones. Why doesn’t Dallas just steer clear of troublemakers. These type of chances they take end up hurting your team.

Zach, not convinced, I will not go as far as to say Arizona is a bad team but they will only go as far as Kurt Warner will take them because if he can’t move the offense than no one can and the Cowboys will give themselves scoring chances, we all know that. Certainly could be exciting and will be some good chances to get back at me on my post-game blog if Arizona does pull an upset.

Glenn - This Arizona team is very good! To even use the phrase bad in the same phrase is insane. You must only watch Dallas. I watch all teams each week.

They lost by at TD at Washington and if anyone watched the NYJ game, Boldin fumbled in the red zone in the first quarter and a blocked FG, all in the 1st quarter. NJY scored 34pts. in the 2nd quarter. If AZ scores those 10 pts. totally different game. Besides, Warner wont be the QB by seasons end, Leinhart will assume the reigns at some point.

AZ blew out Buffalo, a very good Bills team. I see AZ winning this one outright, give me the points, even though I dont need them!

Kev-not 100% convinced but at the same time I give every NFL team credit as to being able to beat any team on any given Sunday. I agree that Leinart will be the starter before years end but at the same time I have not seen any flashes of greatness from the Arizona Cardinals. My opinion and certainly may be apologizing to some come my post-game blog but I am still a Dallas believer and that Arizona will not compete with the Cowboys this Sunday. Dallas has to start to separate themselves from the rest of the league and start to really play football. See ya Monday…..

Sure Dallas needs to separate themselves but they have failed to do so at home the last 2 weeks in a loss to the Skins and a close game to ATL, not to mention the close win against Philly.

Last week was pure dominating for AZ and that was not greatness as that is incredibly tough to do for any team but this Cards team had the most convincing win of any team last Sunday.

I truly think you are in for a rude awakening come Sunday if you think Dallas wins easily as you are saying they need to separate themselves. AZ wins outright!

    Should be a great game.

I am not a homer, I live in AZ but not a lifer here in Scottsdale.
Glenn, you must understand how good this team is on both sides of the ball, plus Breaston will light you guys up on special teams. One of the best punt returners in the league. You will be eating crow on Monday, mark my words. But I like that you are taking this Cards team lightly. They will just jump up on ya like they did with the Bills.

O.K, I am going to keep my mouth shut as you guys are starting to scare me into this year Cardinal team. I like the comments back and forth mind you so keep that up and certainly I will be one quiet blogger if Dallas does not show up on Sunday. I give Arizona credit for building a good team but I still one-on-one don’t see them matching up with such a strong Cowboy team but I said that when the Cowboys played the Redskins and look what happened, the Cowboys lost so good luck and see ya all Sunday night, one of us will have to bring the kleenex. Although I like the Bills, they are still not an elite team in the NFL and have to really give 150% and play the whole 60 minutes to get their wins. I will be at the Bills/Chargers game a week this Sunday so looking forward to that….cheers guys…..
