Broncos Knock Off Bucs

Hey Folks,

Sorry for my delayed post on the Broncos but my internet went out at the house last night so I was unable to pass my thoughts along.

Sunday was a huge step forward for the Broncos in my opinion.  Jay Cutler proved he can win a game without having to go deep to Brandon Marshall all the time, and the Broncos D finally stepped up and played for a change.  This Bucs team is pretty solid top to bottom and the Broncos proved to be the better team all day long.

Brian Griese likely would be fine with never seeing a Broncos jersey again.  Griese who never had great times in Denver, was smoke by Champ Bailey which lead to Jeff Garcia coming into the game and being chased by the D for the rest of the day.

If the Broncos D can continue to play this way they will have a great chance of not just winning this division but making it to the Superbowl.  With the Chargers playing like they are I think you have to consider Denver the favorite in the division, and once you make the playoffs in the AFC this year I think anything is up for grabs.

I continue to be impressed with how much Jay Cutler is growing as a QB in this league and I really enjoy the story behind it all as well.

This week the Broncos prepare for a solid matchup against a very good Jags team.  This is a very big game for the Broncos and if they can pull this one out I think people will really start to fear this team.  That said, the Broncos have a very tough finish to the year with the Chargers, Bills, Panthers, in the last 3 weeks so they better pile on the wins early.

I will be back later in the week with a preview of this weeks matchup with the Jags.

Hey Sandy - seems like the Broncs and Jags are going in opposite directions right now. Given the holes in the Jags pass defense I think Cutler and co. must be licking their chops for next week and (on paper anyway) should be able to pick them apart.

gotta give the Jags some credit here. They have lost to the Titans, Bills, and Steelers…last time I checked all pretty good football clubs. I wouldn’t say the Broncos are “licking their chops” for this matchup and I personally think we have yet to see the Jags best football. I hope it doesn’t come for another week

True, strength of schedule is huge and fans tend to look past that.

I am still not sure what this Denver team is capable of. They look good, but they really haven’t beaten anybody with a winning record, and they lost to the worst team in the AFC. San Diego, New Orleans and Tampa all have promise, but have yet to elivate their game, and Oakland clearly was not prepared to play the Broncos, so to me, Denver is still a questionmark.
Maybe the jags will answer some questions
