Panther’s Blow out Chiefs with Class!!

DeAngelo Williams 3 touchdown performance

The Carolina Panther’s totally dominated the Chiefs in every area of the game but remain classy like their head coach John Fox.

The Panther’s Defense held the 5th marquee running back in a row in check by totally manhandling Larry Johnson to 2 yards off 7 carries.  The Chiefs only mustered 127 total yards and had only 7 plays in the Panther’s territory. Damon Huard looked totally disinterested and was taken out of his game early with knock downs, 2 sacks and 2 interceptions. The lone bright spot by the Chiefs was Tony Gonzalez became the all time leading Tight end in yards, passing Shannon Sharpe on this day on his first reception of the game.(why this was not done last week in KC is beyond me it was only 3 yards??)

DeAngelo Williams is where you start for the Panthers who had 123 yards rushing with 3 touchdowns, 2 rushing, and 1 receiving. Muhsin Muhammad had another great day with a 47 yard touchdown. Steve Smith finished 4 yards shy of 100 with 6 receptions. The Panther’s owned the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball this afternoon, with 205 yards rushing with Stewart garnering 72 yards. Jake played steady throwing 14/22 for 236 yards with only one glitch and that was an interception in the end zone.

I feel that Carolina is truly a classy organization with a class coach who did not throw the ball once in the 4th quarter when it appeared that they could have scored at will most of the afternoon. It is nice to see in today’s game of classless show boaters there is still an old school coach who wins with class. While on the topic of class congrats extended to Steve Young today on his number #8 being retired today in San Francisco.

My hats off to the Panthers!!!! Jayson Saikaley aka Jersey Jay

Very true Jay. I honestly didnt watch any of this game, I thought it had blowout written all over it and there were many more intriguing match-ups. Panthers are going to cause some of the top teams fits. Their balance would give the Cowboys a ton of trouble!

Nice job by Fox as you mentioned! There are not enough coaches like that!

Agreed on the class! New England certainly sunk to a new low last year, but Carolina is a classy organization, which is why I like them so much. Good win today, they flat out destroyed a team that they were supposed to. No trap game here! I like their chances this year.

CBS carried the Pats/Niners game and did not show Young’s retirement ceremony. What’s up wih that?

Panthers and Skins are turning heads and are partly responsible for the balance of power shifting from the AFC back to the NFC.

I personally have no real problem with running up the score. If you have a problem with it all that you need to do is stop them. That said I wouldn’t run up the score on any team….well maybe the Raiders

I am a Die hard fan and would not miss a game by the Panthers no matter what match ups but I will admit there were more interesting games in the morning ;)

It was a pleasant surprise for the Panthers to not put my heart through the washing machine a bit on way to a win!! I felt bad a bit for Josh McCown for not even being able to throw the ball once in the 4th quarter in relief for Jake. ;)

Rather puzzling that they did not show the ceremony?? The 49ers are inching their ways closer to this threshold you speak of. The NFC is truly up in the air and there are a handful of teams that can represent at the Superbowl.

The main thing I can say towards this comment is as long as it is done with back ups instead of the starters. But I remain firm in saying that starters running up the score is CLASSLESS!!!!!!!!!

To think that the Panthers had 2 red zone turnovers and did not throw the ball in the 4th quarter….. :)

I would bet money the best high school team in the country could probably give the cheifs a run for their money (far fetched i know but that’s just how bad i think they are)
