Skins Take on Eagles in Another NFC East Divisional Game

The Washington Redskins are coming off an amazing win over the Dallas Cowboys, while the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Chicago Bears.  The Washington Redskins are again the underdog this week by 6 points, but in the NFC East, every team is a rival and will be close.

If we look at player stats, the Redskins are better matched against the Eagles than they were last week against the Cowboys, but we all know what happened there.  The Redskins player stats have improved significantly since last week.

I predict yet another win this week for the Redskins, but it won’t be easy.  If the Defense can play like last week, they have another opportunity to put lots of points on the board.  After this week, they go on to play St Louis, Cleveland and Detroit.  If they can beat Cowboys and Eagles in the NFC East, they will be the team to beat.

What is the status of Taylor, Washington, & Springs ?

Taylor has not been practicing this week, but has been jogging, so it appears that his calf injury is healing. Taylor is more optimistic than Zorn. “I wouldn’t say that he’s definitely out. I think that, but I wouldn’t say that. You just don’t know. Jason is optimistic. But if he doesn’t practice, then I can’t imagine he would play.” As for Springs, he also didn’t practice, but is hopeful to start as well. ““I’m still really sore right now, but hopefully I’ll be back out there and getting ready to play on Sunday,” As for Washington, I haven’t read anything to say he won’t be playing. The Skins need all 3 for this game!

I hear ya! I am heading down to the Cowboys game in November. Football does not get any better than this!

I did my trip this year or I would have tried to plan a Eagles trip somewhere.

I honestly see a letdown here Mercedes. Eagles are a 6 pt fav for a reason. Homefield will be a huge difference in this one too!

Everyone thought that about playing the Cowboys last week in Texas too. We’ll just have to see how it all goes down on Sunday.

Yes but to get up in consecutive weeks on the road in the NFL, it is a near impossible task. Honestly, when handicapping this game, I just dont see it.

Maybe I’m just new here, but what do those two columns of numbers represent in this blog post?

It’s taking the top player in each team as of week 4’s stats, so Campbell was 11th, Portis 5th, Moss 2nd (awesome), Cooley, Suisham, Rookie Horton for interceptions Fletcher for tackles and comparing to the top player in the same position on the Eagles team. The same analysis in week 3 had Dallas crushing the Redskin’s players’ stats, but they are getting much better.

      I like 21-17.

Damn, had the Titans by 7, but then ended up eating 4 points…

Thanks Mercedes! Appreciate the heads up… You seem to know your team, so I wanted to see if you know your numbers too, which apparently you do…

To Kev - Let’s hook up some golf on Wednesday… I owe you a beer for your leap of faith in having me here… :)
