Tampa wins the battle of the Bays

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are taking advantage of all these “rookie” quarterbacks and to date, I like what I see.  Tampa was able to make Aaron Rogers look like a first year quarterback by getting to him often and pressuring him into throwing three interceptions. The Bucs took advantage of some great running again by Earnest Graham to win the game 30-21.  The balanced attack once again was the difference.
Tampa played great defence, the one area that has been consistent the first four weeks and were led by Derrick Brooks who looked like a man on a mission with one of the interceptions and also forced a fumble that led to a Bucs touchdown.
Brian Griese didn’t have the greatest game as he threw three interceptions and had a very low quarterback rating but did just enough to win the game.  Sometimes it’s about managing the game and that is just what he did.  Although, throwing three INT’s won’t get you far if that keeps up.
The game was played under a sombre note as kicker Matt Bryant’s son was buried the day before and he dedicated the game to him.  What an incredible effort by Bryant to lace up the shoes and kick in this game.
Next week the Bucs go to Denver to take on a Bronco’s team that was just beaten by the Kansas City Chiefs in one of the weeks big upsets and they will be hungry to make up for that loss.

See you on Friday

I don’t think you can say enough good things about Matt Bryant, can’t help but respect him for keeping his composure during unimaginable circumstances.

my thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.

Well said, same thoughts from me too.

TB has been a pleasant surprise this season. Consistent ball and Griese is managing the clock. I cant see Garcia staying there past the trade deadline.

Hey Paul, can you tell me why Garcia is not the man in TB? How long you been on here for. I noticed you have the new place now. I want to come check it out. Gimme a call.

I dont know how Bryant could go out there after the tragedy he faced during his week. I for one would be a blubbering idiot if I lost anyone close to me like that. To me some things are more important than work or football. I am not criticizing his actions but I find it remarkable that he could go out there…

My heart goes out to Bryant for going out there after going through such an emotional time and I think the team gave him the game ball for him and his family which is a needed emotional boost to help him and his family go through this greiving time. Now to football, I am still not convinced that the Bucs are a valid contender but they are winning and right now on the right track if they continue to get the W’s….
