QB Bulger quits on his head coach

Rams starting QB Marc Bulger says he doesn’t want to play for Rams coach Scott Linehan anymore due to his benching in favour of QB Trent Green in advance of Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills.
Bulger, who is the Rams highest paid player, in three games has passed for 519 yards, 2 TDS, 2INTS and a 73.2 QB rating. Below average for sure for his standards, but it remains to be seen if the 38-year-old Green, who has battled concussion problems in the past, will be any better.
The move has come highly critized by the Rams other big money player, RB Steven Jackson. Jackson was on a St. Louis radio station recently and believed the team should ride out Bulger and all the blame shouldn’t just fall on him.
So what do you think? Bulger on the bench the right move or bad move? Should be interesting to see how the situation plays out in the next little while. Stay tuned.

This team is destined to be blown out tomorrow. And if that happens, you know the team quit in their coach and it seems as though management wont stand for it.
MEMO to Linehan……enjoy coaching your last game! lol!

Lol. The team has dogged it all season long. There seems to be no improvement game to game. I agree that if the game is a horrible loss for the Rams, he will be replaced heading into the bye.

And I thought my team was disfunctional!
WOW what a mess!

Very interesting, ordinarily to “quit” on the coach would be a selfish and wrong move, but if there is going to be a mutiny and Linehan has one foot out the door, then perhaps that flips the script and gives Bulger the respect of his teammates.

Bulger was awful against the Hawks missed the mark several times on makeable throws, never overly pressured, honestly its time to blow up this team, Steven Jackson supporting Bulger? despite his obviously terrible play tells me their is more too this than just the coach some massive changes need to be made and starting players based on some nostalgic reason and not based on their on the field performance?

Bulger should be thrown out of the league. Act like a man. You were terrible you got benched. It doesn’t take a genius to see Linehan will be canned eventually this season, just wait it out.
As for Jackson, well until he actually does something to prove he deserves the money they gave him, he should zip it.

Femi, dug a little more into this Holt also recently commented in favour of Bulger adding to a chorus of players coming out in his favour? turns out Holt and Linehan despise each other over several run-ins last season and he’s not the only one who hates the current coach quickest fix maybe to dial the coach.
Also I have it on good authority that Holt has been shopped and maybe on his way out of town, if the decision is to stay the course with Linehan then apparently this maybe the first of a couple of veteran depeartures.

And it is only going to get worse…

It will be interesting to see if ownership sides with the players, Linehan, or remains neutral. Usually they side with the players and the coach is fired. We will see.

It all starts on the o-line on offense and the Rams have one of the worst ones. They make the Chiefs o-line look good. They need to rebuild the line in the off season….Michael Oher anybody?
Jackson is a good running back…but everygood back needs a line. He will be ok as long as they improve the line. They already paid him so its too late to go back.
Bulger has been nowhere near his 2006 Pro Bowl form this past seasons. They should grab a QB in next year’s draft is a priority.
Defensive needs play makers, people not afraid to go for the ball and make plays. Drafting the BPA there is a must.
So basically your right Terry…I say do some major tweaking but you still have some pieces you can work with and coach up to be better than they are right now.

Thrown out of the league? I hope your just kidding because I think that is a little much. He is frustrated. How would you be if you were him. You got the big dollars, were the man, then they take it away from you. He was playing below his standards and he would probably tell you, but he wasn’t the only reason the team is struggling.

Looks like a lot of players don’t like him. Especially the star ones in Jackson, Holt, and Bulger. I also heard that he may have lost the room and once that happens on a team, the coach usually finds the boot. The Rams do look like a defeated team so I don’t think that is to far off to suggest.

There is nothing worse for an organization then a lame duck coach, its like the franchise will be on hold till they straighten this situation out. Hey if Frerotte can pull off the win last week against the Panthers then who knows lol…Just kidding the Ram’s and Chiefs are going to battle all season long for last place overall!!!

I was exaggerating Femi. Obviously they aren’t throwing him out of the league, but the Rams should definitely look into cutting ties with him.

Lol yea it’s all good. I definitely can agree with you on that one. I like Bulger but have never thought of his as a top ten QB…hes good but personally I like the QB with a bigger arm.
