What we learned from Week 3 in the NFL!!!

Minnesota, Seattle, San Diego and Jacksonville all saved their seasons in Week 3.  If any of these four teams had of lost in Week 3, it would have been an incredibly difficult task to make the playoffs.  Now, lets see how these four teams follow up their big wins in Week 4.  Seattle has a bye week, the Vikings visit the Titans, the Chargers go to Oakland and Jacksonville hosts Houston.  I would say the Chargers and Jags push their record to .500 after this Sunday.

Who is the most surprising undefeated team after three weeks of the NFL season?  Baltimore(2-0), Tennessee, Denver and Buffalo are all 3-0 and quite honestly, I don’t think I thought any of these teams would be in this position after Week 3.  The better question might be, of the 3-0 teams to start the year, which one doesn’t make the playoffs.  There are two intangibles that need to be taken into account, health and a teams schedule.  Dallas and the NY Giants should both make it to the playoffs in possibly the best division in all of football.  When you look at the AFC, Baltimore might be the one team that fails to make the playoffs due to inexperience at key positions.

Which 0-3 team will make the playoffs?  NONE!  Kansas City, Cincinnati, St.Louis, Detroit, Cleveland and Houston(0-2) will be lucky to win 6 games.  Yes, I would be surprised if any of these teams won 6 games.  What do they all have in common?  Inconsistent QB play or in a few of these teams cases, miserable QB play.  Cleveland might be the only team that could win 6 games in this group.  If Brady Quinn starts in Week 4, maybe he gives them the sort of lift they need.  Problem is the OL in Cleveland has been awful and plus the Browns schedule is incredibly tough.

I could see Baltimore, Denver, and the Giants miss the playoffs.
Baltimore, because they haven’t really played anyone yet, so whether they are actually any good is unclear.
Denver player an injured Saints team, an injured chargers team, and the Raiders, so they are still somewhat unproven. Although all signs point to them being good, and they should make the playoffs.
The Giants might have to win the division to make the playoffs, because there should be some key losses within the division, and that could mean only the division winner will get through.
I wouldn’t bet on Denver or the Giants not making the playoffs, but I would with the ravens.
All 0-3 teams will continue to struggle, and I would bet none will make the playoffs, except maybe the Browns

Baltimore is definitely a surprise. It depends on how long their d can hold this up to say how far they go. The Giants just seem to keep getting things done, they will make the playoffs almost for sure.

Ravens I agree are the suprise but I think the Steelers take that division and the Ravens won’t get in.

0-3 teams are all done. You have to be a very good football team to start the year 0-3 and still make the playoffs and not one of these teams are “very good”. Take it to the bank.

    Agreed!
