The Man Who Will Be King…And Other Thoughts From Last Night’s Show

Shane-o-mac is back…and he’s here to stay.
Eventually, Vince McMahon will retire and will enjoy reflecting upon a lifetime of achievement. After all, he is the single greatest creative mind the business has ever known. At that point, he will officially hand over the reins of the company to his only son who, I believe, has the talent, the moxie and the intelligence to bring the WWE to even greater heights.
Shane has spent years behind the scenes as a driving force behind the WWE’s marketing, it’s digital media and it’s creative storylines. He has also engaged in some of the most brutal battles with WWE stars such as Kurt Angle, The Big Show, X-Pac and others. He has the charisma to carry an interview and the credibility to back up his words. He doesn’t shy away from the spotlight, is well spoken and incredibly media savvy. Shane is among his father’s most trusted advisers and has been said to have been the impetus for many a change of direction in the company’s past. The WWE will be his legacy, just like it was his father’s and grandfather’s.
In short, he’s perfect for the job.
- If CM Punk and Jeff Hardy were ever cloned in a laboratory and a perfect amalgamation of their talents were developed, the result would Evan Bourne. Once this kid gets some more seasoning under his belt, the sky will be the limit for him.
-Kelly Kelly turned in an impressive performance and that “springboard arm drag” of hers is a sight to behold. However, I found it very curious that she was given the victory over Beth Phoenix, especially in light of the company trying to build a buzz for The Glamazon’s upcoming PPV match with Candace Michelle.
- I’ve written quite a few unkind things about Cody Rhodes in this column (and I may write a few more before I’m done) but I will say this: I give him credit for the amount of actual punishment he took in a very physical match with CM Punk.
-It was nice to see the cocky, self-aggrandizing version of Shawn Michaels again. I’ve missed him, having been subjected to his other incarnations, ”Emotionally Crushed” and “Seething with Rage”, for such a long time now.
- Did anyone else look at Lance Cade in the featured match and think to themselves, “One of these things is not like the other”? It wasn’t all that long ago that he was paired up with a singing cowboy.
- The “Mr. Perfect” imitation that Charlie Haas did started out a bit weak, but I found the whole thing rather touching at the end. Curt Henning was yet another star that was lost too soon.
- I hope everyone sees now why I have been pushing Cryme Tyme so hard. They are the total package, as are Miz and Morrison.
- Finally, I’m going to institute my own personal “Santino-meter” to measure the hilarity he brings to my life. Okay, maybe not…but when he told Deuce, “Fonzie, de Happy Days-a are over”, I very nearly lost it.

Shane is very smart but I always thought he came across as arrogant. Just a thought.
RAW has really………well got to be quite boring at times. Santino’s remark was quite funny last night! I agree!
