Turnovers, Turnovers, Turnovers

Well after what went down in this game where to begin. Let’s say my 27 - 21 prediction didn’t last to long in a game were points just came and went at a rapid pace. This was a game that nobody wanted to run away with till the end. McNabb as far as I know from the reactions I heard outside people’s houses driving home is going to be thrown under the bus and the bus will just keep driving over him till he learns how to either hand the ball to the running back or hold onto it. His last mistake not only to not know if he wanted to hand the ball off or hold on to it and really sell the play fake and his odd choice to hold onto the ball and get sacked by Ware put them in a spot they just couldn’t get lucky in.
Dallas did what any team in this league should do when a chance to take advantage of other misfortunes or bone headed plays present themselves.
Let’s take a look what my keys to the game were and how the Eagles did.
1. Move the ball & get off to a good start.
Well they did move the ball and get off to a good start. They part they forgot to do was not let the cowboys do the same and stay in the game. Many areas they have to learn from in this game and correct as the season goes on, they can not let them linger and stay in their heads.
2. Shutdown the Cowboys offense.
Again we know this was not even close to happening. Not only could they not shut anybody down on the Cowboys they couldn’t generate much of a pass rush to force them into more then the 1 interception. Romo, Owens, Witten, & Barber had a field day.
3. Battle in the trenches.
This was won by the Cowboys since they got to McNabb 3 times and many times forced him into getting rid of the ball early or into making mistakes.
4. Win special teams.
This was also won by the Cowboys. They had the better of the returns, field position from them, & not to mention the kick off return for a touchdown from Felix Jones.
They now have to head into a tough home game against the Steelers with a short week to prepare. Hopefully they can move on fast and prepare well to execute better in all phases of the game.
Lastly this is the 2nd time in DeSean Jackson’s career he dropped the ball before actually getting into the end zone. DESEAN WHO CARES ABOUT WHAT KIND OF CELEBRATION YOUR GOING TO HAVE JUST SCORE and stop the showboating. I know they still scored but that stuff won’t fly here nor should it fly anywhere for anyteam.
I am on vacation as of Thursday morning. I will try to get something up Friday for this weekend.

Great game, bad result.
At least we know that the Eagles can play with the best in the NFC. With McNabb healthy, this team is awsome

I think when the Eagles get their full compliment of players back they may just be the NFC favorites.

It could certainly help but while they are recovering from their injuires/surgery who is playing will just have to find ways to step up.
I am still waiting for LJ Smith to show up he was hardly even noticable last night.

Tough one James - a little more discipline and Philly would have pulled this one off.

I am still very fired up over it and maybe for a day or so.

I have a funny feeling that by the end of the season its Philly that will be ahead of the Cowboys. The club atmosphere will ruin that team in Dallas as the season wears on.

I wouldn’t mind that. I am still very much concerned with the pass rush of the front four they didnt do much against the rams and didn’t do much in this game.

James, I am to have my blog up soon and will cover it from the Dallas perspective but really the Eagles played o.k. McNabb looks like he is back and his arm was throwing the ball like a missle. Where the Eagles really did not do well was the redzone. The Eagles started the first quarter with excellent field position but ended up with FG’s well Dallas put the ball into the endzone making a HUGE difference there. All in all Dallas does what they have to do to win which shows great poise from the Cowboys and well the Eagles I think did play with the Cowboys, they do have somethings to look at to get to the level of the Cowboys….enjoy your vacation but I see some winning Eagle blogs coming from you from last nights game from your Eagles….

They did struggle there again and as I mentioned LJ Smith was nowhere to be found and he is one they need to use when they are down there.
I hope to see many winning blogs in the future as well, with all the time McNabb and Westbrook have spent together to have 2 miscues with the ball is not the norm for them. Let’s hope it is just early season rust.

I agree, LJ Smith was nowhere to be found, especially in the red zone where he usually gets some looks.

For the Eagles to succeed they will need him to do whatever he needs to and get open and give McNabb another option.

He is so talented, but just disappears too often.
