MLB screws the Astros, and blows a great PR opportunity

As the Astros come closer to getting no hit 80 miles away from Wrigley Field I remember why Major League Baseball is still in the dark ages when it comes to public relations. Why isn’t this game in Arlington?

The Rangers are playing in Oakland this afternoon. North Texas had no severe weather in the forecast. Nolan Ryan is the Texas Rangers president. He lives in Houston, pitched for the Astros, and worked for them for many years. North Texas is currently housing many Houston-area refugees. There is no reason for this game to be in Milwaukee.

All MLB had to do was have the paid Astros tickets in Houston honored in Arlington. They even could have allowed free or discounted tickets to all displaced Houstonians to allow them to take their minds off of their collective losses.

This isnt intended to be a long note. This just really pisses me off. MLB has done the Astros wrong in a tight Wild Card race. The sport owes Houston and the Astros a big apology.

I totally agree with you here Josh! How does MLB give the Cubs a few extra home games?!?! Playing in Milwaukee, even when its against the Brewers, its like a home game for the Cubs.

They missed the boat, then again look at the fearless leader of MLB!!

Bud Selig’s family still owns the Brewers, right? I’m sure the Astros will get the money from the ticket window since it was thier home game. I’m not sure who gets the cash on the concession stands, but if it’s in the Selig family, then there’s no wonder why it was played in Miller Park…

Pathetic, so sad Jim. But you are right on the money!
