Florida St vs. Chattanooga

Christian Ponder Christian Ponder

Well with how they took care of a lack luster opponent in Western Carolina their first game this week won’t or shouldn’t present much of a challenge either.

It’s hard to improve after shutting any team out but I would venture to guess theses early easy games will hopefully do wonders for the team and their confidence as they head into conference play.  Christian Ponder has a decent game in his first career start throwing 3 touchdowns and not turning the ball over.  Even the new back up D’Vontey Richardson got into the act throwing for 1 score and running for 2 others.  It’s very suprising how far Drew Weatherford has fallen to now be the 3rd string quarterback and see only very limited time in the game.

In this contest don’t expect to see much else other then them to work on getting the youth on this team as much game time action as they can till these suspensions are over and they can attempt to get back to normal.

Florida St need to try and come out as heathly as they can with a home date with Wake Forest next week.

Wake Forest will be a good test for the Noles. I wonder if their offense will be up to speed by then.

They won’t fully have a team together till after the Wake game, if I recall the suspensions are spread out over the first 3 games of this season.

It could be they will still be somewhat under manned against them.

That’s never good - the Wake game is the one where they really need to have their whole team together.

This brings back memories of Peter Warrick….

Well Peter was never suspended it was Coles who was not just suspended but booted from the team. I think that was the “foot locker” situation.

Dave, I am trying to convince my cousin to go to LA since he has never been and take in a USC game. I did that in 2005 but want to go back.

I strongly suggest you take in the Notre Dame game. I know it’s not as competitive as it used to be, but there’s something in the air when those two teams play. UCLA’s a lot of fun also (but that one’s in Pasadena this year).

I may if I can find tickets I would enjoy a ND game. I wanted to go back to LA to see another USC game and also a UCLA game.

The Notre Dame experience is unbelievable — especially in South Bend. I was at the Bush Push game and I’ve never been part of a more amazing crowd.

I will for sure look into it. It is one of many places I want to see a game.
