Rodger That!

Congrats to the Packers newest starting QB, Aaron Rodgers.

Not only did Rodgers play more like someone who had played the game before rather than the rookie making his first start on the big Monday Night stage, he threw over 170 yards with a TD, scored the game winning touchdown himself and capped it off with a Lambeau Leap!

Hats off to Chad Clifton for his fine work over Jared Allen (Jared Who?).  The Packers have a great positional player there that essentially helped pave the way for his teammates.

The touchdown throw to Korey Hall was short, quick and effective in traffic - just the type of football that has gotten me hooked on this game.  Hats off as well to special teams, Will Blackmon on the punt return for the TD was a thing of beauty, also another one of my favourtie plays to watch unfold.

Although the evening got off to a slower than anticipated start for the homeside, it was good to see the team elements clicking in at all the right times and the veterans leading the way.  Donald Driver’s recalled TD, surely could have been considered a morale mute, but instead, the team kept on - and no sooner than they could say, ‘ah forget it’, Will Blackmon made up for it in a nifty return.

Coach  McCarthy and staff have worked very hard with Rodgers and the talented team that returned to pickup where the left off from a 13-3 regular season.

In summing up this past Week 1 and tonight’s game, I borrow a qoute from a fan sign spotted during a recent Packers pre-season home game displayed in the Green Bay Press Gazette today;

‘ Our cheers for Aaron - Our Memories 4 Brett’

Packers 24, Vikings 19

Packers — GP 1,
Record  — 1 Win, 0 Losses

    Rogers throw to the fullback for a TD was brilliant. Great game. What a way to show the Pack Faithful who the new Qb in town is. We have entered the Rodgers era.

    Great game by Rogers. Let’s keep it going!!

    I’ll be interested to see how he plays once the frozen tundra of Green Bay comes into play. Mind you it didn’t bother Manning as we all found out last year.

    Watching the new era of Packer football last night almost put a tear to my eye. The Pack really played sound football and although the Vikings made it close (the INT sealed the win for the Pack), it looks good for the future of Packer football.

    Very nice to see Rodgers persevere through all the Favre crap.

    Packers have a nice future to look forward to!
