Did the Titans answer their Offensive Questions??

The Titans beat the Packers last night 23-21.  Vince Young had his best game of the preseason.  The first team offense did not get in the end zone in their four games and again the coaching staff doesn’t appear to be concerned.  They didn’t run much other than their basic offense again as they don’t want to give first game opponent Jacksonville anything to work with in the film room.  I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt since this is basically a new offense with a new coordinator, Mike Heimerdinger and a new big threat weapon in first round pick Chris Johnson.

I’m an optimist by nature and I think the Jeff Fisher is one of the better coaches in the league so I expect a great effort next week.  It should be an epic defensive battle decided by a field goal or less.

The Titans will be announcing some of their cuts later this afternoon and the injury status of some of their players including Vince Young who bruised his throwing hand on a helmet last night but it doesn’t appear to be serious.  I’ll update any significant cuts or injuries as they come in.

Madness Musings

Could the Titans make a play for Anquan Boldin?  The Cardinals receiver is still asking for a trade and will there be enough disruption in Arizona for them to seriously consider moving him?   If I’m the Titans, I’m working behind the scenes to see what it would take to bring him here.  It would solve some serious problems and as GM Mike Reinfeldt stated on 104.5 the zone in the off season that top of the line receivers don’t just fall out of trees.  Maybe he can shake a cactus in Arizona and help solidify the Titans offense for years to come.

Anquan would be a great weapon to have, he’s the kind of player that would make Vince Young a very happy man and would do wonders for that offense, but at what cost?

Bolden would be huge for this team, despite the criticism of Vince Young I have always liked Vince’s ability to win games and I think that having a true number one target a type of security blanket player that he can look for on broken plays may just be what he needs to get over. I remember what a player like Sterling Sharpe did for a young Brett Favre’s confidence, and I think an Anquan Bolidn maybe able to do the same for Vince Young.

You can’t have Boldin because I want him in Oakland!!!!!
(besides, I’m not sure Vince Young is going to live up to expectations)

If VY had Boldin, he would be that much better! It wouldnt surprise the least if Zona traded him though, especially if Early Doucet pans out.

I would give up at least a # 1 draft pick and maybe some conditional picks as well

Interesting, but makes sense, the guy is a gamebreaker!
