Lambeau Field is home to the only NFL football today in the entire United States with Green Bay taking on Cincinatti this evening. This is both teams first preseason ball.
Aaron Rodgers story and offseason definetely highlight this match being broadcasted locally here on ESPN/ABC station 2. ESPN will carry it nationwide. Is it just me (as a huge hockey nut) that the NHL should broadcast NHL preseason on CBC as ESPN does Monday night preseason? Someone get Goodell talking more to Bettman…Or better yet - fire Gary!
At any rate, the Packers will look to get off to a great start to the season putting away the nightmarish start to training camp that was the #4 saga. Everyone has something to prove. Young guys trying to make the team, a QB replacing a legend and a coach who will surely be looking to take the next step to the Super Bowl.
Although its only preseason ball - getting a mental edge on the 16-game grind early will be key. I heard interesting discussion on my morning commute about the NFL considering changing the 4 game preseason length down to 3 or even 2. What are you thoughts STB’ers? I for one dont see a reason for the change. Unless it makes sense somehow that benefits of changing it work - why mess with it. Too many things in this world get changed for now other reason that ‘wanting/needing’ to change it.
Predictions. Packers 20 Bengals 10
Rodgers will show up and silence a few critics.

Hey Patrick. Great coverage of the Packers/Favre split. I will definitely look for your posts during the season.
Oh and if and when we meet. First one is on me for the “fire Bettman” comment. Cheers

Rodgers didnt look too bad and if not a couple of dropped balls they would have put a few more points on the board.
