The Calgary Stampeders still have not figured out how to play a full 60 minutes. Well that almost cost them another contest Thursday night. If you do not play a full 60 minutes against the Riders they will make you pay.

The Stampeders had an auspicious start as Burris tries to throw the ball away to avoid a loss. The problem was he threw it right to the arms of Anton McKenzie turning the ball over in the first minute. The Stampeders defense holds the Riders to a Congi 36 yard field goal.

The Stampeders rebound in big way by as Burris directs a 9 drive play which ends with a 11 yard scamper by Burris into the End Zone. Stamps have an early 7-4 lead. The Drive was mostly set up by some excellent running by Reynolds. Reynolds ran twice for 24 yards. But the key was the play action as the Riders had to play honest with Reynolds giving Burris more time to find his receivers.

The first half was owned by the Stampeders who controlled the clock by running the ball. They put together two more time consuming drives in the second quarter, the only thing they didn’t do is put them in the end zone. Sandro kicked a 46 yard and an 20 yard field goals. The Defense forces a fumble after a Palmer completion pass, and the Stamps.

Burris then directs another major in 8 play drive down the field. The Stamps ran a perfect mixture of run and pass plays. The Second touchdown for the Stampeders was a 9 yard pass to Rambo. They constantly kept the defense guessing threw out the first half. There whole offense was set up by involving Reynolds in a big way the Riders could not stop the run threw out the first half. Whether it was Burris or Reynolds it was going for major yardage. The play action in the first half was perfection at its best 23-4 Stamps at the half.

The Stampeder put together there best first half of play of the Season. The only blemish being the interception by Burris on the first drive of the game.

The Second half started out like the first half. Reynolds continued to run like crazy setting up the passing game. The first drive eats up 6 minutes of the clocks but ends and Copeland lets a perfect pass go threw his hands into the hands of Lucas. The drive gets the Stamps no points but does eat some time of the clock.

The Stamps do get the ball back late in the quarter. Thanks an excellent return by Howell the Stamps start the drive on the 33 yard line of the Riders. The drive ends with a nine yard touch down pass to Rambo Stamps lead 30-4.

How do you almost blow 30-4 lead? Why don’t you ask the gracious visitors the Stampeders? As Key stone cops make appearance in the Mosaic Stadium. The Riders score three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to make a life a living heck for the Stamps.

The fourth quarter starts out with a drive by the Riders as they throw 52 yard touchdown pass to Bowman. As two Stampeders defensive half backs decide that Bowman needs a helping hand as they run into each other and deflect the ball right into Bowman hands.

Willams then blocks a punt for the Riders and Szarka recovers the ball in the End Zone. The Stamps seem to forget to block anyone on the punt by Dales. The Riders cut the score to 30-18 in the Fourth Quarter.

Well life is very interesting all of a sudden as the Riders score two touchdowns early in the fourth quarter. The Stamps manage to keep that way until late in the fourth quarter thanks to an intercepted pass by Browner on another drive by the Riders.

The Riders with three minutes left in the game do a 10 play drive which ends in pay dirt. The touchdown pass to Dressler it was beautiful pass by Crandell. The Game all of a sudden is 30-25. The Stamps manage to kill the clock on a couple of completions at the end to Rambo and Thelwell. They were able to kill the last two Minuets.

Stampeders Player of the Game

Reynolds

Reynolds had a monster game he was unstoppable all evening. His best game of the year 24 carries for 128 yards.

Riders Player of the Game

Bowman

Five Catches for 98 yards could of gotten more was constantly in the open. I love his speed I think he is a good one and will be for many more years to come.
