MIAMI SIGNS PENNINGTON

The Dolphins have signed Chad Pennington to a reported 11.5 million over two years. This should make the season opener against the New York Jets interesting.
It was no secret the Dolphins were not happy with the current QB situation in camp, with John Beck having a horrible camp and Josh McCown not showing much so far. Chad Henne still needs time to develop. Pennington will be the starter if he can stay healthy.
Thought’s on the move?
Chris

The fallout from this Favre thing is killing the Bills! I was counting on 2 wins against Miami, and at least a split with the Jets. Now, it is going to be far tougher than originally projected!

Great job getting this story up so fast Chris!
I think this spells the end for McCown. With Henne and Beck as their QB’s draft picks the last 2 years, I just cant see them giving up on Beck yet considering he was a 2nd round pick.
I am sure the Dolphins would love to trade Beck and Ted Ginn Jr. in a heartbeat for Brady Quinn. What a difference a year makes!

So true, the AFC East is a very competitive division overnight now!

I’m happy to see Chad end up with a starting gig. He is definitely a “Parcells”-type guy.
It’s going to very weird rooting against him in the opener.

Good point Tim the AFC East has a very different look to it this year, it will be harder for the Patriots even this year.

Thanks Kev, just go an e-mail from a source close to the Dolphins saying this is a done deal, so I wanted to get this up fast. You are right about Beck and Ginn, the Browns would never trade Quinn for those two guys now. Who knows what will happen with Beck, this guy is so erratic.

I know how you feel Frank, I would feel the same way if the Dolphins played the Redskins because of Jason Taylor.

We have had alot of people at the site get up stories as quick as ESPN which is great to see and adds to our credibility here at the site! Keep it going Chris!
As for Brady Quinn, it still astounds me to this day that the Dolphins passed on him at no. 10 and took Ted Ginn. A player like Ginn can be found in the later rounds but a player like Quinn is not found too often in the later rounds, unless you are the NE Patriots and get Tom Brady in the 6th round.

Your right Kev, we do have a lot of great Bloggers here at the site. This is why I am looking forward to a great NFL season here at the site since our bloggers are always on top on the latest stuff going on.
As for Quinn, I still cringe everytime I see him in a Brown uniform.

Pennington might do ok in Miami, but I say stick with McCown, he has more versitility, and dimentions.
Pennington will not better this team, with that o-line that they have.
Don’t worry Tim, Buffalo should still beat the Dolphins, (even without a home game against them)

I have followed McCown since his days in AZ, the guy is inconsistent as hell! That is why he has bounced around so much. The guy is a career back-up!
