Rauch shored up an already solid pitching staff out in AZ.

I like Murphy’s approach at the plate. He looks like he could be a solid hitter and should see good pitches in front of Wright, Delgado, and Beltran.

I don’t know why the Mets didn’t make a run at John Rauch. The D-Backs got him in exchange for a light hitting minor league second baseman. The Mets have plenty of that on the farm.

I am excited about the upside of Murphy as well. Good point on Rauch. He had 17 saves with Washington, so especially now that Wagner is out that does seem like a good idea. I didn't pick up on any rumors about acquiring a reliever, seemed like the Mets were focused on outfielders only. This comes out of the inflated confidence the team has in their current bullpen. When explaining why Aaron Heilman was getting the first shot to be the closer, Manuel said its because he "throws strikes." Only problem is 9 of those strikes ended up going over the outfield wall!
