Titans Release Mike Williams

Mike Williams, the former 10th overall pick of the Detroit Lions out of USC was released today by the Titans.  Williams had fallen to the fourth team on the depth chart.  Williams had looked good in the OTA’s but was still struggling with his conditioning.  Head Coach Jeff Fisher was quoted as saying that the Titans were very explicit as that they wanted to happen conditioning wise upon his return and he really never met the criteria so the Titans decided to move on.

I hope he can get his life and dedication to football together so he doesn’t rejoin the long list of wasted talent.  From all indications he is a good guy but he has never recovered from losing that year of football.   I wish him good luck and hopefully he’ll wake up and become a success elsewhere

I agree Victor. He had so much promise. Maybe it sheds some light on the Lions drafting of WR’s for 3 straight years!

Since he came in the league he has always had a problem with his conditioning. I think he really hurt himself by trying to follow Clarrett by coming out as a sophmore and then pretty much only doing personal workouts for that year he couldn’t play football.

He may get 1 more shot in the NFL if not maybe the CFL or Arena League.

He had lost 30 pounds over the winter but evidently that wasn’t enough. He had a lot of dropped passes in camp as well. There will probably be a team that will give him a look since its early in camp.

he will get another shot no doubt

He has the name and people remember his talent from USC so people will always think they have a reclamation project.
