Nfl Stadium Policies - Part 2-3

The second post in my series of three, anaylizing the funny and often ridiculous stadium policies out there, if you don’t see your team mentioned here please check the first post or wait for the third they will all be covered.

Tennessee Titans

Bikes are prohibited at LP field, the Titans got a deal on treadmills and don’t want players requesting excercise bikes. Also throwing or kicking of any object is prohibited a policy Vince Young take’s very seriously.

Denver Broncos

Denver highly recommends clear, plastic grocery bags to facilitate security screening at the gates also they are great for the environment.

Kansas City Chiefs

Of course standing or obstructing the view of other fans is prohibited, those away fans need to see, Terrell Owens and Ocho Cinco’s end zone dances and don’t want the few Chiefs fans clouding their view. Also prohibited is harrasing visiting teams fans as there are way too many of them and the last thing the Chiefs need is the publicity, that some poor dad rocking a Chiefs Montana throwback got pummeled by two Raiders fans in those Moss masks.

Oakland Raiders

Fighting, taunting, or engaging in any action that may harm, endanger, threaten, or bring discomfort to anyone in the stadium is prohibited? including verbal abuse, harassment, profanity, confrontations, intimidation, or threatening behavior. So a stadium full of Mad Max Thunderdome-esque people, with a few Day of the Dead characters mixed-in, uddering death threats in english and spanish to the home team is allowed? Cool… Refusal to remove or turn inside-out clothing deemed offensive or obscene upon request by stadium personnel is also prohibited, this one almost killed me, imaging trying to turn those spiked pads inside out.

San Diego Chargers

Prohibit metal and hard plastic costume accescories with sharp edges or tips, to keep out those pesky Raiders fans. also banned are stun guns? OK and boomerangs? A few years back when Aussie rules punters were all the rage San Diego banned the boomerang cause hey, Nfl teams should hire American. Also musical intruments? apparently in Cali when ever you have that much grass and a few guitars there are bound to be hippies.

Dallas Cowboys

They actually don’t have any unsual stadium policies? I guess when your philosphy is take anyone eg Pacman Jones, Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders, Terrel Owens, how can you hold your fans to a code of conduct you would never expect your players too follow.

NY Giants

In NY, Foul/abusive language and/or rowdy behavior will not be tolerated and will be cause for ejection and/or arrest, it also may be cause to seperate you from your team while going through the playoffs and the superbowl, though you may be entitlled to spend this time in a luxury box.

Philadelphia Eagles

Philly bans Abusive, foul or disruptive language and obscene gestures and fighting ot taunting. How long has this been in place? Is it new?, This is the same place that booed Santa off the field right? Also footballs are not allowed in the stadium, the equipment manager has to think of new and creative ways to get them in every game. Also food not wrapped in clear plastic is not allowed? so your telling me Donovan and the Eagles can’t have their Qb’s mom bring the soup that eats like a meal for halftime.

Washington Redskins

Prohibit distribution of any literature? as any other literature may expose just how bad their offensive play book really is.

Chicago Bears

Apparently the Bears have the opinion that season ticket holders are responsible not just for their actions but the actions of anyone else who uses those tickets, and can eject the individual or revoke their tickets, somewhat like a contract? you hear that Brian just to come see you I’m subject to honour my agreement to the Bears, also banned are balloons and opposing team fan taunting as there is no bigger burn to away fans, than an angry balloon animal guy shaping an Eagle getting molested by balloon Bear.

I am going to have a hard time at the Raiders games!
It is really uncomportable when you have to turn your spikes inside out, and are still not allowed to use profanity.

I am starting to like the whole “do whatever the heak you want” attitude that the state of Texas has. Maybe I should move there, get a Hound dog, two guns, and a bottle of Jack, sit on my porch and shoot people who enter my property!
      What do you think?

Philly bans Abusive, foul or disruptive language and obscene gestures and fighting ot taunting (true, but anybody who has been to games outside their own teams stadiums know this is the case everywhere)

Also food not wrapped in clear plastic is not allowed. (Well for this I can see, I use to hand out the giveaways at Veteran’s Stadium and people would wrap up like 4 beers like it was a hoagie or to other a “lunch meat sandwhich” and get it into the stadium)

This is the same place that booed Santa off the field right (this one I am beyond tired and it annoys me when anybody brings it up. This happens in 1967, I for one wasn’t even born yet and nobody seems to ever let it go.)

nice stuff terry, still being amazed by dumb policies.

lol yeah but Texas allows everything, but nothing ever happens if Oakland switched to that policy lookout, one of my favorite fan bases they are so intimidating which made it funny that their stadium policy bans exactly that.

Yeah alot of these are overlapped but I tried to point out, what seemed out given the stadium and Philly fans are tough they were booing Mcnabb in favour of AJ Feeley,

It’s good to know about the beer in a bag trick, I’ll use that if I’m ever in Philly…

I am also kind of sick of the Santa thing but still that attitude of being the toughest fanbase anywhere still exists in Philly, and I was trying to use it to display just how much it contradicts the fanbase as a whole.

I’m surprised you didn’t like my Mcnabb soup that eats like a meal line, he has been in a ton of those commercials, I thought that would kill.

i liked the McNabb thing I just forgot it once I saw the Santa reference………..I always here were a tough fan base but would any place be tough on their teams when they expect the best from them even if they dont succeed ?

I will always if I remember refer to part Keith Primeau’s speech from Feb 13th, 2007 about philly fans to me it says it all about us and our players.

“And now for me the most important thank you of this evening, and why I stand here so humbly. I learned early on during my stay in Philadelphia that you need not be the most talented, the most skilled, the best goal scorer or the best playmaker but if you play with passion, desire and a blue collar attitude you would and could be embraced more than you could ever imagine. I took great pride in putting on my Flyers jersey because I felt as though every time I did I had your support. I will always give credit to the fans in Philadelphia for creating my identity as a player and as a person and for that I humbly thank you.”

Loved the Keith Primeau post, that Philly team with him and the big E was scary I remeber hearing back then that the average weight of a Flyer was slightly heavier than that of an Eagle by like a pound or two. I never checked to varify this but the fact that it was believeable was enough to fear the Flyers

Terry, the flyers are probably my greatest love of all the sports and teams i watch and follow………..to meet the players, watch them, cheer for them its always a joy.

From watching them, going to games, and hear stories from my dad to all the games he went to over the 10 years (73 to 83) when he had season tickets. I hope to keep my season tickets for a very long time (4th year).

I am also on the waiting list for the eagles (maybe try to test how well those stadium rules are inforced)………haha

Not sure where you live but I will be planning some sort of tailgate when I see how the NHL schedule breaks down when it is released tomorrow, anybody from here would be more then welcome to come on down and enjoy the madness !

Its one thing to ban some things and another to actually inforce it. I would bet that if I went to a Raiders game in Oakland and was terrorizing a Broncos fan with quick wit jabs and hard nosed cheepshots, I would not get thrown out.
      Ok maybe I would!
