According to several sources, the impression is that CM Punk will not be having a very long WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign. Jason Powel of ProWrestling.net is reporting that the feeling was, Vince McMahon wanted to shake things up in a big way. One source said that nothing should be considered a long-term move in WWE at the moment due to Vince McMahon’s current mindset.
A number of sources also agree that CM Punk’s World Heavyweight Championship reign is similar to Bret Hart winning the WWF Championship by defeating Ric Flair back in 1992. The feeling at that time was Bret Hart would have a short term run with the Championship, however he won fans over quickly. This could mean that there is a possibility of CM Punk doing the same.
Sources feel that ratings and merchandise sales will be a determining factor in CM Punk’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign.

Very interesting! I haven’t watched a lick of WWE the past few weeks with family and work stuff but I really do hope they give Punk a serious shot at holding the belt for a decent amount of time!

Seriously Kevin?? CM Punk is a LOSER!!!!! I can’t stand that guy and i’m really hoping that it was just a nice way to make people thing there were no belts on RAW and then tadaa now there is. I’m hoping soon that it’ll fall into the hands of John Cena and Batista and watch the two of them fight for the championship!

Cena of course is the fans choice but it is nice to see other guys get a shot. I guess I am so tired of the same feuds. Now if Batista could ever wrestle, then the Cena and Batista match-up would definitely be a good one, I agree!

haha yeah i know you’re right! They need new excitment, who knows, maybe CM PUnk with grow on me. I used to hate Mr. Kennedy too. Maybe i just don’t give new people a fair chance! I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out!

Very true Kirsten. In the next month or two we will see if the WWE fumbled the ball on developing new feuds with the changes on both rosters.

I really want to see Punk take the ball and run with it here (sorry, Kirsten:)).
He is a talent and I see plenty of exciting programs he could be involved in. I personally think a Punk-Jericho feud would produce some really good matches.

im with kirsten here, but that’s probabbly because im a half-as wrestling fan, or soap opera fan, you know the guy that fast forwards to see who wins and thenwatch the story line, yep, that’s me. lol.
